2 Years Later

I came home from school and went straight to my bathroom. I sat on the toilet lid looking down at my hands until I noticed drops of water hit them. I looked up and didn't see a leak from the ceiling, so I touched my cheek and saw that I was the source of the leak. Memories of the boys in my class taunting me came flooding back into my mind. Why were those boys always so mean to me? I never do anything bad to them. Do I deserve it? I walked into my bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror. Am I really fat and ugly? Why would they say something that isn't true? Maybe I shouldn't eat dinner tonight. They can't call me fat on Monday then right?

I stayed there sad for a while before I heard my mom call me saying Thomas was here. I wiped away my tears and walked out of my room right as he was walking towards it. I grinned and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, hugging him tightly. When we started public school, we couldn't go to the same one so every weekend he comes over so we can hang out. Thomas is still my only friend, and he is my best friend. No one at school likes me. I don't know why, but Thomas always makes me feel better. We let go and walked back into my room. I sat down on the floor and he sat down with me. "What's wrong, Gracie?" He noticed my red and puffy eyes.

I almost started to cry again when he asked, but I was able to hold them back. "Nothing. You know my eyes get watery during allergy season." I gave him a smile that I know didn't convince either of us. I didn't want Thomas to know about the bullying because I didn't want him to see what they saw and think of me like they did. He was the one thing in my life that was good besides my family and I wanted to keep it that way. Thomas gave me a sad, but knowing look, as if to tell me he's not convinced but he didn't press further. We hung out in my room for a few hours before he had to leave. We said our goodbyes and he hugging me tightly once more before leaving
