Toast sat in the family kitchen, sipping his tea with two sugars. He thought about last night, wondering if Ghost was okay.
He was about to text him when he heard the voice of his brother.
"It's awful. It really and truely is." He said, walking into the kitchen, followed by his mother.

"Ah, mother. I've made you some tea. It's on the side." Toast smiled to his mother, who raised an eyebrow back.

"Thank you Johnathan." She smiled, kissing his forehead.

Gavin sat down opposite Toast, smirking before he kicked his shin.

Toast cried out. "Gavin! What was that for?!"

"What?" Gavin asked innocently. "I didn't do anything."

"Mother, Gavin kicked me."

"He wouldn't do that." She walked over and hugged her eldest son. "Would you?"

"Not at all mother."

Toast frowned. Ever since their father had died, Gavin was seen as the 'man of the house' as his little sister, Jenny put it.

She walked in and got some cereal.

Toast stood up to avoid being hit by Gavin again. He walked over to the back door and stepped outside into the summer sun.

He remembered back in Britain, when it was summer, it would rarely be hot. It rained most of the time.

(A/N: I speak from experience. I live in Britain)

He wondered what it was like in Britain right now.

With only two weeks left of the summer holiday, Toast was moving schools for a higher year.  That meant leaving the fourteen year old Ghost in the hands of Fred Spooker. Sure they could meet up, but it wouldn't be the same.
Besides, Toast would have Colon, so he wouldn't always be alone.

"Boo!" Shouted a voice from behind him. A pair of hands grabbed him and shocked him.

"Gavin!" He screamed as he dropped his mug of tea.

"Mother, Johnathan smashed a mug!" Jenny said, pointing at them.

'Being British 101-that sadness you get when you waste a perfectly good cup of tea.' Was the first thing that came into Toast's mind as he sighed.

Once Toast had recovered, he turned around.

"Mother, Gavin made me jump." He said.

"How? He's been sitting in the kitchen the whole time." She handed him a dust pan and brush. "Clean it up."

Toast got on his knees, leaning forward and began cleaning his spilt tea and shattered mug.
"Sure he's been there the whole time-how would you know, your back was turned mother." Toast muttered.

Once done, he looked up to see Gavin smirking at him. He frowned in return.

Man, he couldn't wait until his was older. Then he could move into an apartment with Ghost.

But until that day, he'd have to put up with this.
He could dream, though.

Hey. Hope you all enjoyed the chapter. And I'll see you in the next one.
