Chapter 5

Skylar's POV

      I heard the thundering paws coming closer Run child. RUN!! The fear in her voice was enough to make my blood run cold. I spun on heels and ran for the border. I was 5 feet away when the wolves broke into the clearing. Immediately I saw the third, the Beta, the alpha, and the soon to be alpha. Only he seemed even more attractive. That is if it were possible. "Mate" was all the he said. I stopped running. I was only a few inches away from the border and startled to walk to him when my wolf forced herself to the surface to run over the border. As soon as we crossed the border I heard a despair filled howl. As much as I wanted to run back to him my wolf still had control. I had always thought that it was the wolf that wants her mate but for some reason the moon goddess didn't want ours. I'm truly sorry child but I made a mistake he is not worthy of being your mate. At first you shall feel pain but do not worry I will take away as much pain as possible. Also please call me Selene. 'Moon goddess" is too formal for my liking.

        After running for my 5 hours my wolf finally let me have back control. As much as I wanted to run back to my mate, my wolf only let me have enough control to make simple decisions. Why want you let me go to him. I miss Isaiah. I begged. "I am sorry, but I was wrong he does not deserve you" I sighed out loud nodding my giant wolf head. Even though I missed Izzy I knew this was for the best. I walked over to a giant tree a laid under it. After a few minutes I welcomed darkness with open arms.
