A/N We are so sorry for not updating. I (PenguinTheBookLover) asked Yccheetay to write this chapter, a few days ago, and then I came to this account seeing that she hadn't written anything. I am soooo sorry for not updating. She doesn't even know I'm writing this chapter right now... But I'll get her to edit afterwards.
"What?" I shook my head. "A second chance? Really?"
"This man clearly is a confused one," The one named Clotho said. She held a frown on her stern face. "Do we really want to give this special gift to him?"
"Do not be paranoid, sister." The blonde one said. "This was not meant to happen to him. Somewhere along the Strings of Life must've gotten tangled up. He needs this. Unless he doesn't accept."
"That is right, Atropos," The blue eyed one said. She turned toward me. "So puny mortal, do you except?"
The three Fates stared at me, it was kind of freaky. Another life, or stay dead... This was the gift of the century, who was I to decline? That's was pretty much all I needed to convince myself. I was going to have another life.
"Yes, I accept," I said clearly, and confidently. I was surprised how that came out. Inside me was nervous and insanely confused on how this was going to work. "Thank you all very much. I will use this opportunity wisely."
I swore I heard Clotho mumble, "you better."
I might be dead right now, but I can tell if someone doesn't like me. The other Fates seemed nice enough, and sort of caring. Key words are enough, and sort of. Clotho seemed... Rude-ish, and judgemental.
"In this new life, will I be the same person, or will I live as someone else?" I asked, questionably. I look at the Fates, directly in the eye for a second, and it felt like my soul was burning. I did not want to mess with them.
"Ah, finally, a proper question," Clotho said strictly. Her brown eyes seemed to glow to a golden color for less than a second, however I was sure it happened. She gave me a creepy smile, and offered me her hand.
I stepped forward and took it, and she led me deeper into the bright space. I honestly had no idea where I was going, but I let her take me to wherever. Atropos and the red-haired one followed closely behind us until we reached a cliff-like platform. Clotho led me to the very edge, and I saw everything. Literally. The whole world seemed to be layed out, and the space below me was never-ending.
I gaped at the sight a little while longer, and I would've done it for much, much, longer if it wasn't for someone tapping my shoulder from behind me. The one who tapped me was Atropos, and on the red-haired Fate's hands was a green orb, with different scenarios showing. It switched back and forth from people, never the same one. It ranged from homeless people, to billionaire families, to dogs playing around in the backyard of a suburban home.
I immediately knew, this orb was to decide my future new life. Atropos took the orb from the blue-eyed, red-haired Fate, and started to stare at me. Her eyes met mine, and she continued to stare. As if she was looking into my soul, which she probably was. Her eyes bored into mine, and it was like I could feel myself drifting away.
After what felt like hours, but was probably only a few minutes, she moved her gaze away from me. I felt myself release a breath I hadn't known I was holding. Clotho walked up to Atropos and took the orb from her hands. Was it pass around the magical orb thing that controls my future day? I wondered.
"Hand Lachesis the orb, dear sister," I heard Atropos say. Clotho scowled and pushed the orb to the blue-eyed lady, quite rudely if I might add. Lachesis gripped the orb, and glared at her sister. "You do not need to be so rude Clotho." Being who she is, Clotho just rolled her eyes with annoyance.
"I have decided your new life and future," Atropos said loudly, it even seemed to echo, despite there being no walls. She stepped forward, and touched my shoulders. She pulled away from me and went back to her sisters. "Your new life... You shall be Prince Isanic, first son of King Asher, of the kingdom of Sauer."
"Are we sure he should be a prince? He doesn't seem too bright..." Clotho mumbled rudely. "Maybe a pet of the royal family instead..."
"Clotho!" Lachesis hissed. "Do not be so rude!" She turned toward me. "We are sorry for her very-" she took time to glare at Clotho "-rude interruptions. Anyway, let us continue."
"Yes, let us," Atropos agreed with a small smile. "As I was saying, you will be Prince Isanic of Sauer, first son of King Asher. When you start another life, it starts from the very beginning. Your memory of your previous life will be forgotten, however if you ever see us again, or when you die, both lives will be in your memory."
I would have no memory of the past, no memory of my family and friends. But I could regain them again at a different time... Was it worth it? Yes, yes it was. One person in the whole century, and they chose me, I would not let this gift to waste at all.
Lachesis saw the look on my face.
"This is your last chance to back out, Edward Stone. Do you accept?" She asked me.
"Yes, yes I do," I said strongly. I would do it. Another life... "I accept your offer for another chance of life."
"Ah, good," Atropos breathed. She had a large smile on her face, and Lachesis handed her the green orb. And a picture of a man in royal clothes, stood next to a young man, who looked remarkably similar to him. "From now on, you are not Edward Stone, but Prince Isanic, heir to the throne of Sauer."
A blinding light came to my eyes, and I was losing my sight. In the little time I had left of my vision, I saw Lachesis give a friendly smile, and Clotho just stood there looking bored. Atropos just had a hand on both her sister's shoulders. Her face seemed to say, good luck, and I wondered.....
Would being a prince be hard?
Pretty soon I couldn't see anything, and I didn't realize until now that my hearing had disappeared. I couldn't feel anything and I lost all sense of everything. The feeling was painful, yet also felt relieving. It felt like feathers brushing me, but like made of metal. Metal feathers... I've been told I describe things weirdly. But that is my past, and I would not think of that.
I relaxed myself and let the feeling take me away. It was time for something new.
My last thought as me?
I love my family......
That's when it all ended.
A/N Chapter over! So, um, since Yccheetay is bailing on me these days, I got my friend OceanAndTheSea to edit this... YICHEN STOP DITCHING ME! Sorry... Anyway, thank you for helping me. Also, she plays the flute! So! She plays a woodwind... IT COUNTS!
