"babe, tonight has been fantastic. i love you." mike whispered in my ear as i leaned against the clear wall atop of the red steps that lit up times square.

"i love you too," i kissed him, connecting my fingers around his neck.

"being with you for nine months has been a complete dream, cait," mike took in a deep breath. his hands gripped the metal bar behind me. "if you had told me that long ago that i would be standing here with you, being so in love, i would have laughed in your face, saying 'no way caitlyn dreyfuss would love me back'." he let out a small chuckle.

"mike?" i pushed myself up on my toes, although he still towered over me. "you know i love you, right?"

"i know it, and i want to tell everyone that i love you, for the rest of my life." laura and ben padded their way up to the third highest step quickly, followed by will and kristolyn.

mike walked down one step, leaving me at the top. he looked at his feet multiple times. he shifted his left leg on the red floor, propping up the right one.

"michael, what are you doing?" my lips curved into a wide smile while my eyes flicked back and forth between him and our friends.

he pulled a white box out of his jacket pocket, "michael.." my voice grew weak.

"caitlyn dreyfuss, i want to love you forever," mike smiled up at me, "so what do you say, babygirl, marry me?"

my face became red, tears streamed down my face, nodding my head hysterically.

"yes, of course i will." he wrapped me in a tight hug, followed by a salty kiss composed by both of our tears.

"i was going to wait until our one year, but it just seemed so far away." mike cried.

"i'm glad you didn't wait." i kissed him again before the group of friends came up to us, shouting congratulations and crying at the same time.
