Keir had turned Marc's pack over to Bishop, allowing for a new alpha to lead as I stepped down from wanting to take leadership as I would be leading an entire world. It also made sense for Bishop to take over as I no longer had my alpha mate and I had no heir to give the pack for the line to continue from Marc. This was for the best however, Bishop made it clear that I was always welcome in his territory to visit and stay awhile, along with remaining a part of the pack hearts' forever with Marc.
It has been a few days since the equal freedom had been given to everyone in this world. It has also been a few days since the live broadcast with the announcement along with the upcoming meeting with representatives that would form a new council.
Finally...
...it has also been a few days since Dante's wolf had been able to console my wolf, helping relieve the feeling of disbelief and denial that came from the process of grievance since Marc's death. His wolf is very kind, strong and aggressive when needed, but also very caring like Marc's. My wolf and his came to their own terms and with time, I believe they will draw closer to one another as I am taking more time to spend with Dante as well.
"Don't tell me you're turning the room...pink?" Dante's voice emanates from behind me, the open door to the room Arthur once held and my father before him. I stand in the empty space, knowing the furniture would soon arrive that I'd picked out for myself, but I also want to renew the room as well.
I laugh lightly when I turn on my heels, Dante taking a few steps pass the door threshold and coming to stop abruptly in front of me. His eyes fall on the swatches I hold in my hands, noticing the one pink color I'd chosen before ignoring the other choices.
I wear a light knee-length dress, having taken to staying in doors the pass two days as the snowfall is easily seen through the curtain-less window. Comfortable flats contain my feet, while Dante wears dark slacks and a light green turtle neck shirt, boots seen beneath the hem of his pants.
"What do you suggest then?" I arch a brow and lay the swatches flat in my palms. His eyes fall down and leave longing looks on each color before he glances up and looks around the room again.
"Not my forte," Dante shakes his head and chuckles. A light giggle leaves my own lips as I glance down at the colors again. His voice changes slightly when he asks with genuine concern, "How are you holding up baby girl?"
My eyes slowly lift to meet with his and the smile leaves my lips briefly, "I'm okay."
"At least you aren't 'fine'," he air quotes the dreaded words spoken by every woman in the world.
