Roxies POV
I couldn't wait to get to California, but i was not looking forward to this long ass flight. You have to love all the delays and layovers when travel by plane. Since I didn't have much money, and had to go the cheaper route I get to fly halfway and then switch planes for the second half of the trip. I was racing to the airport trying not to miss my flight, and then when i arrive I find out my flight has been delayed. Fuck my life i thought to myself. I picked up the phone and texted lacey.Girl my flight got delayed by 2 hours, so i guess I won't be making it there until tomorrow morning. That is if i don't run into any other fucking problems. I'll call you when i get to cali so you can come get me. Love ya biatch-Roxie
After sending lacey the text to let her know I would arrive later than expected I made my way down the hall to the coffee shop. It was late and I needed something to keep me awake. I payed almost 8 dollars for a shitty cup of coffee and sat down in the lobby. The airport was strangely very quiet this evening, but I guess most people don't have shitty tickets like i do. A man in a black hoodie came into the lobby and sat down in a chair across from me. He looked strangely familiar, I wonder where I have seen him before. I kept trying to place where I had seen him before, but it came as no surprise that i couldn't remember for anything. Take it easy Roxie I thought to myself, the guy does have a hood over half his face and his head. It's no wonder why i couldn't place where i had seen him before or who he was. My eyes became heavy as i kept thinking about it and eventually i fell asleep. I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder.
Miss? Sweetheart? You need to wake up or your going to miss your flight! The man said.
Which flight? I asked half asleep.
"Flight 216, Miami to St. Louis" he replied.
I jumped up quickly and told the man thank you, I took off down the hallway towards the gate. The women at the gate checked my ticket and let me through the entrance. I walked in and took my seat on the giant plane. Considering the lack of people in the airport lobby, I had no idea why this plane was so full.
A couple minutes after sitting down the familiar man took the seat next to me.
"Hi" he said. I'm sorry about earlier i didn't want to disturb you but I also didn't want you to miss your flight. You would have been waiting a while for the next flight out. My name's Jonathon by the way.
Holy shit I thought to myself, that is why he seemed so familiar. Theres no way I told myself, I had only seen him once before in concert and that had been years ago.
As in the Jonathon Davis? I asked.
"The one and only" he replied.
"I'm sorry" I said. I didn't even realize who you were, I mean I knew you looked familiar but i couldn't place why. I have only seen you once before during a show in orlando, that has been a while ago. That show was amazing by the way I carried on.
"Well thank you" he replied.
"So may I ask what caused you to pick the most shitty flight ever?" I asked.
"That is simple" he explained. Usually when i travel late like this, i dont have a mess of fans swarming me. Don't get me wrong i love and appreciate all my fans but sometimes it is just easier to go unnoticed.
Yeah I get that! I replied. It has to get hard sometimes having people following you around asking for autographs and stuff while your just trying to get from one place to another! I added.
"You seem like a sweet girl" he stated. Where you off too?
"California actaully" I answered. I am going to visit my best friend from collage and hopefully land a job there. If it works out I might just stay, but I'm not sure i haven't made my mind up just yet.
"Kool" Jonathon replied. I'm headed to Cali as well, I am supposed to be working on a soundtrack for a movie there. I am stoked about it actaully, I have wanted to do something like this for a while. So what did you go to collage for? He asked.
I went for photography and digital design, as well as filming. I'm hoping california has something to offer me along the lines of a career. I have always wanted to work with my idols and catch them at their best for everyone to see. Don't get me wrong i don't mean like a paparazzi, I mean like working for a band and doing it for them.
"I understand that completley" he replied. Actaully quite a few of us have photographer's that go on tour with us, they do our photo shoots for magazines as well as concert photos and footage. Maybe we could give me your number and if I hear of anyone looking i could send them your way? He asked.
"Really?" I asked. Jonathon that would be amazing.
I scribbled my name and number down on a piece of paper and handed it to Jonathan. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! I told him.
"Hey no problem" he said. You seem like a pretty kool individual, and if I can help you out at all I will. He smiled at me and said he was going to nap the rest of the flight. That sounded like a good idea to me as well. I pulled my shades down over my eyes and snuggled into my sweatshirt. After all these years when i was feeling sad or nervous I still put on that hoodie to ease my mind. Even though Chester's scent was long gone from it, the memories of him remained crystal clear.
