Chapter 4: Good Bye

He leans in and I do too. We're about to kiss when we hear the door open. We immediately pull away. It was Leah. I look at Shawn shyly. Who am I thinking? He wasn't trying to kiss me, I'm stupid. Why would he kiss me? Im just an annoying, ugly, worthless girl. No one will ever want to kiss me. Dating Cameron (my ex) proves that. "So anything happen while I was gone?" She asks. "No." I say looking at my hands once more. I tend to do that when I'm sad or I have no idea how to react. I wish he kissed me. I guess I was just being crazy. I can't believe I was stupid enough to think he would actually want to kiss me. Shawn is looking at me, I can feel it but I just continue to pretend I don't notice. "So where'd you go?" I ask. "It was my 1 year anniversary with Ethan." She replies. "Your lying and you know it." I say. "So what were you doing?" Shawn asks. "Okay, fine. Ethan called me and told me to meet him and said it was important. He told me not to tell anyone." She says. "What was it about?" I ask. "He broke up with me." She says sadly. I get up and immediately hug her, and say , "Well you know what, I never liked him anyway. He doesn't deserve you." She has a small smile as tears fall down her face. She wipes off her tears. She whispers, "thank you Vi." I smile and hug her again. "Okay well I'm sleeping over today, I am not leaving you like this." I smile and tell her. "Wait but why did you tell both of us to stay?" I ask. "Well I wanted you to hang out a bit more alone before Shawn leaves." She says. "Well we could've hung out more tomorrow or something." I say. Shawn gets up and comes to where we're standing. She looks at Shawn. "Well, I thought you knew this but Shawn is leaving to get back to his tour today." She says. My heart sank. Why am I so sad to find out he's leaving. I just met him. "You're leaving today?" I ask him a sad look on my face. "Yes, I'm sorry I didn't tell you but we were having so much fun and I just didn't know when or how to tell you." He says. "This was just a stop on our way to the next concert." He sighs. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you." He apologizes. "It's fine. Whatever." I mumbled. "I really have to go now, Violet." He says as he lifts my chin up just like those times before and he looks at me with those amazing brown-green eyes. "Just hug it out already!" Leah says with a smile and a small laugh. He hugs me and I hold on as tight as I can. He's not even drop dead gorgeous but he kills me anyway. "Goodbye Violet." He says and lets go. "Bye Shawn." I say and he turns around and opens the door. He turns his head once more and says goodbye to Leah.
God I don't know why that hurt so much. I HAVE KNOWN HIM FOR A DAY. ONE DAY. How can I possibly already miss him this much? Am I lonely. I'm probably just lonely. I don't have feelings for him. I'm happy being a single little Pringle. K that was weird. Why am I talking to myself. I'm a weirdo. "Earth to Vi?" Leah says waving her hands in front of my face. I let out a small laugh. "Sooooo...?" She says walking backwards to the sofa and falling down onto it. "So what." I say as I laugh at her falling. "Did anything happen?" She asks. I give her a confused look. "Between you and Shawn you idiot," she starts, "come on, nothing happened?" I sit down beside her. "I don't know. We talked and stuff but I don't know." I say. "He's leaving anyway it doesn't matter." I say trying my best to keep a smile on my face. Suddenly the doorbell rings. "Who's that?" I ask. I get up and open the door and I see a rose with a note on the ground.

I pick up the beautiful light pink rose. The note read : "Tell me if I'm wrong, and this is crazy, but I got you this rose and I need to know, will you let it die or let it grow? - Shawn" I bring the note and rose inside. "What is it?" Leah asks me. I sit beside her with a big smile. I show her the note and the rose. "He seriously wrote a line from his own song? He is so cheesy." She says and laughs. I laugh too. She gives me the rose and I put it in a small vase with some water. I take the note and put it inside my wallet. What? Don't judge me. It was a cute note and I don't want to lose it okay? There I go talking to myself again. "I gave him your number so he can text you. I can give you his if you'd like." She says. "You gave him my number and didn't ask me first?" I say still standing. "I think he likes you." She says and gets some water from the fridge. "I don't think so." I say awkwardly. "Come on, he got you that rose!" She says handing me some water to drink. "Thanks? And that was probably nothing." I say not knowing why she gave me water. "Whatever you say!" She says and glances at the rose.
