Chapter 2: Wonderland

10:30 am
"YES WE'RE HERE!" I yell so loud everyone around me turned and thought I was crazy. I jump out of the car. "Come onnnnn!" I say to Shawn and Leah. "Calm down you child" Leah says and I lightly shove her. "Hey!" She says and I laugh. Shawn gets out of the car and comes up to us, I'm not nervous anymore. Maybe it's the excitement? "Lets goooo" I say to them. We start going to the entrance and we start to decide what ride first. "Let's start off simple. Let's go on the big Ferris wheel. It's a beautiful view!" I say. "I agree, that's a great way to start." Shawn says and looks at me. "The Ferris wheel it is!" Leah yells. We go to the line and it's not very long. THANK GOD! Oh it's only 2 per seat I notice. "It's only 2 per seat, I can sit alone." Shawn says. "No it's fine I can sit alone." I say. "You 2 should sit beside each other and talk since you 2 just met." Leah suggests. Oh nooo. I'm gonna embarrass the hell out of myself. "I like that idea. " Shawn says and smiles. I blush. I hope they don't see. We go on the Ferris wheel and we sit beside each other like Leah suggested. "So were you born here?" He asks, "I was born in Pickering." I answer. "Me too," he says, "I'm surprised we haven't met before." He continues. "So how old are you?" I ask him. "I just turned 19 , 2 weeks ago. How old are you?" He asks. "I'm 18 and turning 19 this December." I answer. "What are your favourite things to do?" He asks. "I love to read, draw, listen to music, sing, and dance-" I stop and start to tear up. "I'm sorry," I say. "Did I say something?" He asks me looking worried. "No it's just, my little sister , she loved to dance. She was the reason I started." I say wiping off my tears. "Is she okay?" He asks holding my hand, "She-she died" I say and he hugs me. He pulls away and wipes the tears off my face. "Look at me." He says. "Don't cry. She would want you to be happy." He continues to hold my hands and looks deep into my eyes, I say, "I- I know but I just miss her. A lot." I say. I wipe my tears one last time and he pulls me in and I rest my head on his shoulder. "I'm okay now. Im sorry. " I tell him. "Don't say sorry. You lost your sister, don't be sorry." He whispers and holds me closer. I love this feeling. "Tell me about you now." I say and look up towards him slightly. "Well I love singing-" he starts. "I could tell." I laugh. He smiles. "Well I also love writing songs, sports and I love art and I want to get into acting." He continues.  The ride stops. I don't want it to be over. "Come on let's go, I see Leah!" I say. We get off and we're still holding hands. I turn around to face him and look at our hands. "Oh, uh I'm sorry." He says and we let go. That made me sad. I'm not sure why. Then we go to Leah. "So did you two talk?" She pulls me aside and asks , curiously. "No Leah we made out the whole time." I say and laugh. "Really?!" She asks excited. "No you dumby! We just talked." I say. "Your both so boring." She laughs and I walk back towards Shawn. "What was that about?" He asks with a smile. "Nothing, just weird Leah." I say and roll my eyes playfully. "I HEARD THAT!" Leah yells. We all laugh. "Lets go on the Leviathan next?" Shawn asks. The leviathan is the highest roller coaster there and has many huge drops. I cannot go on there. "You and Leah can go, I'm not going." I say sitting on a bench. "Why, are you chicken?" Shawn asks. "I am not!" I yell. "Then come on the ride." He smirks. "Fine I will!" I say stupidly. God why did I say that? I can't take it back now. "Yessss!!!" Leah screams. I roll my eyes playfully with a smile. We walk to the line and after what seems like hours of waiting in the line, we go on the ride. "Okay the only way I'm going is if we sit in the middle of the middle!" I demand. "Okay fine." Leah says. We get into the seats. I sit in the middle and Leah sits to my right and Shawn to my left. The ride starts and it starts off slow but I'm still really scared. The ride gets faster and faster and I close my eyes. I open them and I realize we're at the first drop. My heart is racing. It drops. I hold on tight to my seat. I close my eyes but it's not helping. I hate this. Shawn and Leah look like they're having fun but I hate this, then it starts to go up again. This drop is steeper and higher than the last. Shawn could see how scared I am. He takes my hand and holds it. It dropped and I hold his hand as tight as I can. It made me feel better. "Open your eyes!" Shawn yelled as we started to go around in a loop. "I'm too scared!" I yell. "Just open your eyes!" Leah yells at me. "Okay fine." I say. I open my eyes. And my heart is racing even faster. But I keep them open. Throughout the rest of the ride I'm still holding his hand and I feel less scared and more excited. The ride comes to an end and we get out of the ride and I let go of his hand.
*A Lot Of Rollercoasters and Rides Later*
4:00 pm
"That was so much funnnn!!" I yell jumping around with an ice cream cone in my hand. And I dropped it. "Aw.." I say. They laughed. "You can have mine." Shawn says giving me his ice cream. "It's fine." I say. "Your both so weird." Leah laughs. "I know I am, thank you." I say. "Let's go home I'm tired." I say walking towards the exit. "Okay." They say and we get to the car after being lost in the parking lot for a bit. "I'm driving!" I yell. "No I'm driving." Shawn says. "It's funny, you two actually think that you have a shot at driving," she laughs, "my car, I'm driving." She says. "You two sit in the back , there's no more space in the trunk so I have to put some bags in the front." She demands. We sit in the back. The drive to Leah's is about an hour and a half.
A while goes by and I start to get really tired. I rest my head on Shawn's shoulder without even realizing I did. He moves a strand of hair from my face. I slowly fall asleep...
7:00pm
I wake up and I'm lying down on Leah's sofa, Shawn is sitting beside me but I can't see Leah. "How did I get here? What time is it?" I ask in a tired voice. "You fell asleep and I didn't want to wake you so I carried you here. It's 7 pm right now so it's been about an hour since we arrived here." He says. I look around the room searching for Leah. "Leah went to her boyfriends house if your wondering." He says. "She just left?" I ask. I get up and go to get a drink of water. "Well he called her and apparently it's their 1 year anniversary today." He says. "That's a lie, they've been dating for 9 months." I say. "Well that's what she told me." He says. "I should probably go home now." I say nervously. "Leah said that she'll be back by 9 and she said she wants us to stay here until then." He says. I'm going to be alone with Shawn for 2 hours. WHAT.
