chapter 22- oh she's sick

YOOJUNG POV

i woke up feeling strangely excited today. i did my hair, curled my eyelashes and wore red tint, like how doyeon does. i didn't want to look like i was sick. i walked to school.

"ah daehwi! Have you seen Doyeon? I can't find her anywhere.

"Have you checked your phone?" He asked me

I checked my phone.

*I won't be here today guys, I don't feel too good. Yoojung rehearse with Daniel okay?? So he can practice his lines.* -Doyeon.

"Oh she's sick..will she be okay for the play this Friday?"  I asked, although the thought of her not being with Daniel today was nice.

"She'll be fine that's like 3 days away" he said reassuring me. But he was wrong.

I walked to art class. "Hey Yoojung!" Daniel greeted me as he came to sit next to me. " I just read the group chat. Looks like you're going to be my Juliet for today" he said smiling. My heart fluttered.

i'm going to be his juliet.

"I guess I am" i said, changing my happy tone to a sad one.

It's been months since the whole gang has gladly welcomed Daniel into our gang. He's close with all of us now. hopefully he still feels more close with me. since i was the one that introduced him.

i saw him first.

"why do you sound so down?" daniel asked me with a concerned voice.

"uhh its nothing i just- i'm worried she wont be able to make it, i mean she's so hyped to perform." i said pretending to care about my bestfriend.

"aww yoojung you baby~~" he said patting my head. "she's gonna be fine okay? don't worry too much! she's had more than enough practice anyway, she'll be fine for the performance." he told me.

"hmm i hope so" i replied. and again he patted my head.

i was convincing right? i cared for doyeon, and daniel thought i was cute.

DANIEL POV

as soon as the bell rang we went straight to the theatre, today it was just our gang, since drama class wasn't on today and we wanted some extra rehearsing time.

the fake kiss scene was coming up and i read my lines as usual. but this time when i looked into juliets eyes, i felt something strange. i saw yoojung like how i see doyeon. lights were radiating around her.

i felt nervous. i froze.

YOOJUNG POV

our fake kiss scene came up. the whole rehearsal i was trying to act as pretty as i can.

seeing as romeo is always watching juliet, this means that daniel will always be watching me. thankfully i did my hair and makeup extra good today, hiding my cold.

i read my lines before the kiss and he just stared at me. he leaned closer, as romeo would have. then he just stopped. he stared into my eyes, and i stared into his, making my eyes seem as puppy as possible.

"daniel..?" i spoke up

"hmm?" he said, still staring at me.

"the fake kiss.." i said.

"oh right" he quickly turned his head and i turned mine so we could make an illusion of a fake kiss.

"okay! i think we're good! next scene please" jinyoung said while clapping his hands. daehwi and seonho walked onto the stage.

DANIEL POV

"dammit. why did i freeze?? do i actually like her? i mean she is really cute nowadays... and we are alot closer than i am with doyeon." i thought to myself.

"i should of just kissed her cheek to see how i really feel." i mumbled.

"what was that?" yoojung asked.

"oh nothing, nothing." i responded

YOOJUNG POV

"oh nothing, nothing" daniel responded to my question.

but ahh i heard everything. was this finally happening? everything i have done to change myself and is he finally looking at me the way i want him too?

i guess my plans really have been working. and i think it's time to step my game up.
