Samantha's POV

My life was a never ending tale of surprises, I swear it.

I always knew my mom was keeping something away from me about my dad and their life together. She refused so many times to tell me what her married life was like.

I started thinking that maybe my dad was a real jerk or a heartless person. She found out that I had thoughts like these so she began to reassure me that he was a good man, the best father and husband any child or wife could ask for. But within me I never believed it, I always felt she was trying to cover up for him.

But I think now I understand why I always saw a pained expression on her face whenever I brought up my dad. It was too painful to remember.
I can't imagine what she went through to make that video. Reliving the past was a hard thing to do, I knew that from personal experience.

Right now, sitting on my bed and looking at the briefcase with fear of what I would find was real torture which was why I asked Viv to join me.
She was always my strength.

"Ready?" She asked me and I took a deep breath before nodding.

I opened the case to see a big brown file that was sealed and the word confidential written on the file with a marker no doubt.

Opening the seal, I dipped my hand inside it to reveal a lot of papers.
I brought them out slowly and placed them on the bed.

Vivian set the briefcase down for me.

I began going through the papers one after the other.

Legal documents of ownership to an island

Documents of shares belonging to Empress Groups

Legal ownership documents to lands and properties

Bank accounts across the country

And........and a letter

I set aside the documents and took a good look at the handwritten letter.

It was addressed to Athena and Samantha......

Before reading I looked at the sender.......

Roberto Elizade............

My father......

I began reading........

To my wife Athena Elizade and my princess Samantha

Athena, I know this letter must have come as a shock to you. I know you must be angry with me for leaving such a letter, its like I know I won't be back. But what can I do?
I won't see you suffer because of my wayward brother

But I cannot shake the nagging thought that something bad might happen to me, hence this letter.
