The termination of the partnership between two of the world's hottest singers was splashed across the media around the world. Anticipated fans got upset and rumours of breach of contract over alleged drug use and money embezzlement began to abound.
It was at the peak of the rumours when Mia posted a cryptic message on her social media:
"The Princess had her Prince, until a Cinderella waltzed him away."
As a result, rumours sprouted like wildfire that she and Leon had been secretly dating all along. Tongues wagged as everyone tried to figure out who was this evil "Cinderella" who broke up the ideal couple, with early suggestions that Ariel Lee, his chef was the one. But the gossip deviated to a string of other female celebrities whom Leon got involved with before, who were also rivals to Mia. The chaos brought little relief to Leon. Furious at the media wildfire, he rushed his PR team to address the lies and accusations and even hired a lawyer to send a legal letter to Mia Marlene, threatening to expose and sue the witch herself before she was forced to remove the post and write an apology.
The whole parade was wearing him out. Taking legal action was a tiring thing, and the last time he took real serious legal action was when it involved his father. Leon would not bother to take legal action against meaningless tabloid gossip since he never took the tabloids seriously to began with. But this time, it was different. He felt the fierce need to protect Ariel from this heinous outbreak.
Just then, Martin messaged him.
Martin: Hope all's going well
Leon: Not really. Pretty stressed
Martin: It's a pity really, cos u and Marlene hit off so well at Roam 😂
Leon: My biggest regret!
Martin: Still not wanting to share what exactly happened that led u out of the contract? Was her performance in bed that so bad?
Leon: I'm not getting into that!
Martin: Lemme guess, the Cinderella is your chef?
Leon: U really believe the tabloids?
Martin: They can't be all that wrong, can they? 😂😂😂
Leon: Shut up!
Martin: 🤫🤐... 😂😂Btw, I've set my eyes on one who's my next game before I head back to NY
Leon: Oooh...tell me who?
Martin: I ain't tellin' u who since u ain't dishin' the dirt when I asked first
Leon: Bruh, whatever!
Martin: 😂😂😂
Leon was not pleased. The last thing he needed was Martin making a joke out of the whole ordeal, even though it was his unorthodox way of trying to cheer him up, which did nothing to help. Knowing him for a few years in showbiz since they first collaborated on a hit single that was a roaring success, they shared a penchant for hooking up with attractive ladies along with their other celebrity pals and splurging big, having fun at how their fame and money could help them get whatever they wanted to their hearts' content. It did not really give them any sense of purpose or happiness except to momentarily relieve them of their already stressful, gilded caged lives.
Meanwhile, Ariel was becoming more aware of the magnitude of the situation after Camila updated her on the latest gossip. She never dared brought it up to Leon and his team, as they already looked stressed dealing with the blowout. Since the incident with Mia, Leon did not seem interested in engaging in any more casual conversation with Ariel like he used to. The only time he talked with her was when it was work-related.
