Alice's POV
"Beep! Beep!" I groaned and tried to search for that darn alarm. "Beep! Beep! Beep!" I finally found it to my right. With my right hand, I found the huge button in the middle of the sky blue alarm clock. The stillness of the air was peaceful and I fell back into my bed, sighing. I wonder what Luca's doing? I grabbed my pillow and hugged it tightly. I wonder if he has a girlfriend?? Wait!? What am I thinking about?! Luca and I are just friends.. Right? I shook my head. No. I can't think about that right now. I looked at the walls of my room. Plain white walls. But there was only one full of pictures. Colorful backgrounds and beautiful people, precious people that are dear to me.
Scratching my head, I got up, walking to the bathroom in the hallway. Since all of the kids' school was later than mine's, they got to sleep more. Lucky.. I got my purple toothbrush and put toothpaste on it. I ran the tap water and put water on my face. I opened my eyes to see my reflection in the mirror. I wonder what Luca thinks of me? Does he think about me all day like I do about him? Oh my gosh! Am I beginning to become a stalker? I hit both of my cheeks and shook my head. No. No! I'm not a stalker!
"Well, someone's excited this morning." I heard my mom say as she smiled at me. "N-no, not at all!" I stuttered, blushing. "Well, okay then." She said as she winked at me before walking downstairs. I sighed. What am I going to do about my problem??
Luca's POV
I woke up this morning, the first time without my alarm clock. I loosen my hold on Max, my teddy bear and smiled and got up. I walked to the bathroom which is about 2 meters to my right when I walk to my doorway. "Lu-Luca!" I heard someone say. I turned to look around me, searching for the source until I looked below me. "Mae? Why aren't you in bed?" I said to her, gently picking her up in my arms. "Because Mae heard you coming, Luca." She said as she yawned, rubbing her teal eyes that she had inherited from our mother. I stroked her long, wavy light brown hair that she inherited from our father. This girl, both resembles our mom and dad. I chuckled at that thought. "Luca, why are you laughing?" She asked me, her small hands held my cheeks as if I were crying. "Because, my little rabbit, you are the one who's funny!" I exclaimed, chuckling. "Really? How am I funny?" She asked me, still cupping my cheeks, tilting her head like a dog. I petted her head and stroked her light brown ears. Her bushy tail was on my arm. " 'Cause you are!" I said, walking towards her room. I laid her down gently on her pink fluffy comforter with all of her stuffed toys. "Now, go back to bed." I said, smiling at her. "But, I don't want to!" She protested. "At least sing me a song, please?" Her puppy dog eyes were getting to me now.
I looked at the door. Will was still sleeping and I didn't want to disturb his rest because he gets cranky when I do. She looks expectant and I sighed. "Ok, I'll do it, but as long as you sleep." I said, sitting down on her bed with a plop! "Yes, I will!" She said, her tail wagging. She reminds me of mom. She is of Wolf kind too, unlike our dad, whose of Hazer kind. Our mom is at work right now, so she rarely gets to eat breakfast with us or even make one for us. So I usually have to care for them and myself.
I began to sing,
Red leaves fall again,
They always remind me of you.
For once you've loved and I, you.
But now our love falls apart,
As the leaves of a trees turn
Red, yellow and orange.
Those were the colors of our love.
Love, love, love.
I still love you,
Even though, you don't love me anymore.
I will watch you grow and love again.
Even though, you don't love me,
I will still love you forever.
I sneaked a peek at Mae. Sleeping, good. I tiptoed and closed the door behind me, careful as to not wake her up. I tiptoed along the hallway, careful not to step on the hardwood floorboards that always seemed to creak. I didn't want to make any noise because I knew that Mae would wake up.
Mae and Will go to the same school, Meadow Hills Elementary School. Will is almost at middle school level where he would go to the middle school that I went to before, Ebony Middle School that is close to their elementary school, about a couple miles away. I worry about that thought. Will takes good care of our sister who is a 4th grader, so I don't know if Will would be able to take care of her when they're in different schools.
I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and did my business. After that, I creeped along the floorboards with caution to my room. From there, I walked to my dark ebony dresser in my closet and opened one of its drawers. The drawers opened to reveal dark grey, blue, black and green t-shirts. I picked a plain black v-neck t-shirt and closed the drawer. Then I opened the drawer on the bottom of my t-shirt drawer and picked one of my favorite jeans. For some reason, I had a feeling that something good was going to happen. I closed the drawer and opened another one that showed me white socks. I pick one pair and put them on. Then I went outside and turned right, walked past the bathroom and turned left. I looked at the clock by the stairway. It read 6:30. I sighed and went down the stairs and went to make Will and Mae's breakfast. I poured orange juice for myself and grabbed 2 pans and 6 eggs and bacon from the fridge. I set them on the granite island in the middle of the kitchen and turned right and washed my hands with soap. Then I put on a 'Kiss The Cook' pink apron that mom used when she was here at nighttime and made dinner for us. I turned on the stove and decided to put the eggs in first. I cracked one egg and broke the yolk because I knew that Will and Mae likes their eggs scrambled. I cooked it until I decided that it was enough and broke several others and then opened the bacon and put it on the other pan.
When I finished cooking, I put the scrambled eggs and the bacon on a plate. I got another plate and put 4 strips of bacon and 2 eggs on it. I went back to the pan that had the bacon on it and opened a jar full of fat and grease. I poured the fat in the jar over the sink, careful not to spill. After I was done, I ate my eggs and bacon with a spoon and fork. I put my plate in the sink and made lunch for Will, Mae and myself, since there wasn't any leftovers from last night's dinner, I made PB & J sandwiches for all of us and put in a fruit for each bag. Will has a banana, Mae, a pear and me, cherries. I put a note on the whiteboard on the fridge to let them know that I made them lunch and breakfast and put their lunch bags in their backpacks. I looked at the clock over the tv. 7:09. I grabbed my red backpack and grabbed my watch that was on the island. I walked over to the door, put on my gray and red sneakers, made sure that I had my keys and opened the door. I went out the door and locked it. Then I began my long journey to the bus.
