The hardest part was not getting down the hill, it was sneaking out in the middle of the night with guards at every point. Yet when the lights went out Valerie still grabbed her bag and opened her window. This wasn't something they could pass up; there could be something in the junk yard to answer her questions. So much was erased from their minds that nothing was making sense, and it was on her nerves; like something was itching at her to remember.
Amber was already waiting outside her window for Valerie, blonde hair pulled back for once and her bag slung across her chest. "Finally! let's leave, the boys' will be waiting." Valerie yanked on her own bag, nodding and moving around the house. A few street lights were on, lighting the way through the society.
"Keep quiet, we don't want anyone finding us." The two girls walked quietly and slowly, looking around every corner to insure there were no guards watching. Successfully they made it down half the roads to the junk yard without being caught. Valerie peaked around another corner, blinking when she saw six guards waiting around. "We have a problem." Amber looked past her shoulder, eyes wide as she stared at the guards.
"Give me a minute." The blonde yanked off her bag, pulling a small white ball from her bag. "Distraction." Amber pulled her arm back, throwing the ball around a corner and catching the guards attention quickly. They whispered to each other before they moved to the other street, half of them going left and the others right. "Now, go."
Both the girls sprinted at a low height, staying as close to the ground as possible. Making it to St. Claire road was easy from there on, with no other guards blocking their way. Valerie cocked her head to the left, practically crawling at her crouch into the vandalized alley. Both Hudson and Jenson were waiting for them, rope slung across Jensons' chest and a bag on Hudson. "Do we have everything?" All of them nodded to him, pulling on their bags.
"Good, lets go." The next few moments seemed to pass easily, with Jenson nailing in a pick to the ground atop the hill and Hudson tying the rope around it so it was sturdy. The girls tightened their bags around them, then watched as Hudson tied the rope around his waist. "Ill go all the way down, and I'll flash the light so you can bring it up, Amber will go next so Jenson can secure the knot- after Valerie and Jenson will follow last. We leave the rope here." All of them agreed, nodding their heads and watching as Hudson began to climb down, pushing his feet against the wall until he reached the first ledge.
Valerie couldn't help but look over the edge as he went farther down, reaching the point where they couldn't see anything. A few moments later a light flashed and Jenson started to bring the rope up. Amber was playing with her hair as he tied the rope securely around her waist, nodding hesitantly when he asked if she was ready. She gave a quick smile to Valerie as she moved down, stopping at the same ledge before continuing on.
When the light flashed once more Valerie started to pull it up, her breathing coming out faster then before. "Ready?" Jenson asked, tying the rope aruond her waist.
"As I'll ever be." He fininshed tying the knot, pulling to amke sure it was fine and then letting her go down. The red haired girl pushed with her feet, bouncing off the wall and continuing the process. Her head was spinning and she landed on the edge, breathing heavily before continiuing on. Her eyes were getting blurry as she pushed of the wall again and again. Her foot slipped, making her loose her grip and falling five feet.
Lights were shining up at her, telling her go slower and be safe. She breathed out, gong to push again but slipping and falling another seven feet. Slowly, before she regain balance and grip, the rope was sliding down. She briefly heard Jenson yell, a thump and then scratching. "The ropes coming loose! Don't move Valerie!" Her face was heating up as she looked down- it was still another two ledges and fifty meters down. Her mid was racing, ears ringing until she heard Jensons voice again. "Okay! Keep going, but slowly Valerie!" Her breath coming out in pants Valerie continued, mumbling words to herself that she was goning to die from this, and if not this then the worry of not making it to the ground.
Valerie made it to the final ledge, her head stopped swimming as she looked and saw her two friends. "Almsot there." She breathed, finishing quickly and untying the rope from her waist, sitting back and sighing on the ground. Amber handed her a bottl eof water from her home, smiling at her as she heloped her up. Jenson was down in no time, assuring them it was tied well and held down with a boulder he found.
"Alright then, here, lights." Hudson handed the two lights, clicking his on and looking out at the junkyard. "Let's hope this was worth it."
