Attempt

-Maddie's POV-

I opened my locker and took out my bag and went to the classroom. As I was walking down the hallway, I pulled out my pocket knife slowly and carefully, making sure no one will see me. I took it out and looked up.

'You're going to get what you deserve, you stupid (Y/N).'

-(Y/N)'s POV-

As I was on my way to the courtyard to go home, Maddie suddenly came to me, with a smile on her face.

"Hey Maddie." I greeted, smiling as well.

"Hey (Y/N)! Can you come with me at the lab? I can't understand what to do." She explained, placing her finger at her head.

"Ok, sure!" I replied, "But wait, I'll just text Ash and say that I'm helping you."

"Ok!" She nodded.

"Oh.. So that's how you do it.." Maddie placed the chemical on the test tube and started mixing it.

"Do you understand now?" I asked, putting the chemical on a flask.

"Yep, thanks a bunch (Y/N)!" She happily said.

"Well, I'm gonna get going now." I stood up, putting the lab coat on the table.

"Wait." She said, her tone much deeper this time, which send goosebumps down my spine.

"Yeah?" I asked, trying to ignore her deep tone.

"I have... Something to do.." She went over to my back and pulled out something.

"Uh.. Maddie?" I asked, slightly scared. "W-what are you going to d-do?"

"You'll see." She smirked.

What she did next send a flashback to my mind.

Suddenly my eyes widened as I saw what she did next.

She pulled out a knife and started walking towards me slowly.

"Um..wh- why are you holding that...?" I asked, both confused and scared.

"Oh, you know...to kill you." She replied calmly.

"But- I didn't do anything to you.."

"Didn't do anything.. Didn't do anything?! You have just completely ruined this entire prom!"

"H- how..?"

"Oh, don't pretend like you don't know! You ruined this because I didn't get to dance with Ash!"

I gasped, "Why didn't you just tell me you wanted to go with him, I would've never asked him if you told me..."

"Well, it's too late now!"

Then I realized that there were no were else to go, I was at the end of the room, trapped and about to die. Tears started to fall down my face.

She laughed, "Goodbye, (Y/N)."

Thinking about that day made me even more scared.

She came closer to me and put the knife 1 inch close to me. Soon it was touching my skin, and I could feel the cold, hard blade about to stab me to death.

She laughed evilly before saying, "Goodbye."

Help.

Help.

Please. Someone. Help me.

Why? What have I done?

Why are you doing this?

I just wanna live a happy, normal life on this academy, but why am I always on the verge of dying?

What have I done?

Someone, help me. Anyone! Please!

Suddenly the door opened revealing Ash standing outside. As soon as Maddie heard the door open, she immediately put the knife back on her pocket, placed her hands on her back and smiled innocently.

"Um.. Hey guys." greeted Ash.

"Hello!" Maddie happily said.

As for me, I was just standing there, another sweat dropping from my forehead. I was too shocked of what just happened. I was just standing there, not saying a single word.

"(Y/N)? You ok?" Ash came closer to me.

His words suddenly snapped me back into reality. I instantly spoke, "Yes. Yes, I'm fine. Come on, let's go home.." I trailed off, walking to the door.

As I reached Maddie, she suddenly whispered to my ear.

"You got lucky this time. But don't think you'll get saved next time."

I shook my head to try to forget what she said, and I slowly made my way to the hallway.

Once I got home, I immediately took a shower and did my homework. As soon as I got in bed, I tried to sleep, but her words kept on repeating in my head.

"You got lucky this time. But don't think you'll get saved next time."
