Wes and Courtney ride to work together whenever they can. It saves money, and gives them extra time together.
Today was supposed to be like that, but it wasn't.
Joe pushes up the deadline for a script Courtney was writing, so she had to stay late.
"Just go home," she said to him, "I'll take an uber."
"Are you sure? I can wait."
"You have the WWE shoot tomorrow. You need rest and I'll probably be here till after midnight. Don't worry, Shayne is staying with me."
Wes sighed and conceded, giving her a quick hug before leaving.
"Don't wait up," Courtney yelled as he walked to the elevator.

It wasn't till 1 in the morning, after lots of take out, did Courtney and Shayne finish the script.
"We did it!" Courtney exclaimed as they packed up their things.
"Never though it was going to happen," he joked, opening the door for her, "If Joe doesn't like it I think I'm going to kill him."
"I think I will too."
The parking garage was empty, and kind of terrifying.
"Be safe," Shayne said to Courtney as they neared her cab.
"I will be, and thanks for helping me!"
"Yeah, of course."
Shayne made sure Courtney was safely tucked away in the cab before she left. She reached the apartment around 1:15 A.M., and was too tired to notice anything happening int eh world around her.
That was until she reached their apartment, and the door was wide open.
''Maybe it was Wes,' she thought, walking through the threshold. She turned on the light.
A man in a ski mask was standing in her kitchen. He was holding a pillowcase in one hand and gun in the other.
Courtney gasped, panicking for a moment before ducking the lights on.
"Wes!" She screamed as the gun was pointed at her.
"Shut up!" The man yelled, "Get on the ground!"
She glanced at Wes's door as she lowered to the floor.
"Face down!" She pressed her cheek against the carpet,"Don't move!"
A door slammed, a few moments of skin slapping skin, and the nest thing Courtney knew was Wes pulling her off the ground.
"Are you ok?! Did he hurt you?!"
"I'm fine," she responded, latching her shakey hands onto his forearms, "We need to call the cops. There's a man passed out on our floor and-"
"Courtney, it's ok. I'll take care of it. Sit on the couch and take deep breath, ok?"
"O-Ok."
Wes carefully lead Courtney to the couch before grabbing his phone  and calling the police.

Courtney was treated for shock while Wes was beginning question. He was extremely ticked at himself for not hearing the guy when he entered. When the police and EMTs left, Wes made sure Courtney went to bed safely.  He had already called Joe for her and requested the day off, which Joe was happy to cooperate with. He placed a glass of water on her nightstand and turned to leave.
"Wes," Courtney reached out and grabbed his hand, "Can you please stay? Can we please cuddle platonically because otherwise I might start crying."
He climbed into the bed next to her. Courtney rested her head on his chest and Wes wrapped his arms around her.
"Thank you," she whispered, "Platonic cuddling for the win!"
"...Please never say that again."
