"Took you fucking long enough!" Bridgette rushed towards Courtney and yanked her hand, dragging her into the cabin she was getting ready in.
"You're getting married at a camp?!"
Bridgette opened the cabin door and took a deep breath, "I told you. It's not just a camp."
Courtney smirked, "Alright."
The way Bridgette talked about the place made it seem like it was a fairy tale, beautiful tall trees and the wildlife was amazing. Instead it was just a small summer camp that had been turned into a venue for parties, mostly family reunions or birthdays.
They changed the name from Camp Wawanakwa to Lake Wawanakwa, making it sound more interesting than it was.
Bridgette would be getting married on the beach where her and Geoff first met at, cheesy, but cute.
Courtney walked into the cabin, following Bridgette.
"Bridgette where the fuck are your tamp-"
Gwen stopped when she saw Courtney standing by Bridgette.
The room filled with an awkward silence.
Who was gonna be the first to say something after not seeing each other for two years?
What would they even talk about?
Was someone going to apologize?
"Courtney has some in her car, don't you?" Bridgette turned to her.
Courtney let out an annoyed sigh, "I took them out a few days ago while I was cleaning. I'm sorry." She gave Gwen a sympathetic look.
Bridgette looked back at her in disbelief, "So you accidentally left your tampons out when you're on your period?"
Courtney shrugged awkwardly, trying to ignore the fact she knew exactly why she didn't have them in her car.
"I'm not on my period."
"You were supposed to get it like last week!"
Courtney looked at Gwen who finally butted in, "Its fine, i'll just text Leshawna and ask her to bring some."
Gwen walked over to the small sofa and sat down.
Bridgette sighed, "My mom should be here soon, I need my hair done before she gets here."
"Why?" Courtney asked while pulling out a chair from the wooden desk that remained in the corner.
Bridgette sat down, "Because if I don't, she's going to want to do it herself."
Gwen rolled her eyes, "Didn't she do your hair for homecoming in highschool?"
"Yes, she did. Did you see what I fucking looked like? Geoff almost dumped me because of that night."
Courtney laughed while brushing her long blonde hair, "I never went to my home coming, I was too busy studying for a debate competition that was the next day."
"Are you still working to get your law degree?" Gwen asked while flipping through the bridal magazines that were on the coffee table in front of her.
Courtney nodded, "Yeah. I just got a part time job working at a law firm, to see what's it's like."
"Do you like it?"
Courtney smiled, "I love it. I've always wanted to be a lawyer, now it just feels like everything's falling into place."
"That's cool. I'm taking classes to get my art degree, so I mean it's better than traveling around the country with your boyfriend who's in a boy band."
Courtney laughed awkwardly, remembering Bridgette telling her why they broke up.
"Have you told Gwen about Bandit yet?"
Courtney continued to braid Bridgette's hair, "Bridge the only time i've talked to her is now, have you heard me mention Bandit?"
"Who's Bandit?" Gwen looked up from the magazine.
"My dog. Duncan and I adopted him from the shelter a few months ago."
Gwen smiled, "That's cute. I know Duncan's always wanted a dog, but i'm allergic to their saliva. I'm guessing it's a German Shepherd?"
Courtney nodded, "Yeah. He's the cutest thing, i'll show you a picture when i'm done with Miss Bride To Be."
Bridgette smiled to herself as the two girls talked, it hadn't been like this a for a while.
She could barely remember the last time they all got together and had little talks like this.
Gwen rubbed her temples as Courtney rambled about how stupid the girls on Teen Mom were.
"You good?" Bridgette asked her, looking worried.
Gwen nodded, "Yeah. Just a headache."
"Duncan would not stop texting me yesterday, he literally sent me the whole script to Scream while I was at work. I fucking hate him."
Gwen couldn't stand how much she was hearing about Courtney talk about Duncan, vice versa.
Although, she hadn't really talked to Duncan lately.
Bridgette and Geoff were leaving soon, so the girls tried spending as much time with them as possible.
"Being with him is more exhausting, trust me."
Bridgette shot Gwen a look.
"What?"
Gwen shook her head, "Nevermind."
Courtney looked at Gwen confused but continued talking.
Little did they all know how much their lives would be changing in a few months from now.
In exactly 6 months, Courtney would be laying in bed sobbing while Duncan held her, thinking about their child.
Bridgette would be online looking at wedding dresses while Geoff was too drunk to stand up.
And Gwen would be in the emergency room, after realizing she didn't wanna live anymore.
But things change.
Right?
