Around midnight, when everyone was asleep, Mike quietly entered the house through the front door and got upstairs to his door. Like the front door, it was hard to get the door open. With the stairs, it felt like he was climbing a building each step that he was barely taller than, since he was pretty small. He successfully got to his room and closed the door,  and went to sleep.

"Mike didn't come home yesterday...where could he be?" Samuel asked. "Probably out with friends." Jonathan replied. "He always comes home by midnight, though! I don't see why yesterday was any different." Samuel complained. "Wait a second...last year for the 10 year olds, they said the 'starter Pokémon' thing was going to be different. None of those 10 year olds came home." Jonathan realized. "Do you think maybe...Mike is...a Pokémon?" "Maybe...who knows what happens on this island." Samuel said. Mike heard footsteps rushing upstairs and to his bedroom door. He watched the doorknob turn, and then Jonathan and Samuel rushed in.

"Uhh...hi." Mike said, looking at them. "You're so small and cute now, Mike!" Samuel said. Jonathan just started in disbelief. "I am...EXTREMELY confused." He mumbled to himself. "I...can explain." Mike told them.

Mike told his brothers the whole story of how he became a Pikachu. "That kind of stuff didn't happen when I was getting my Pokémon!" Samuel moaned. "Well, it was painful. Be glad you didn't do it." Mike said.

Meanwhile, Oliver, was sitting on a bench near Mike, Jonathan, and Samuel's home. He had light brown hair, was 11, his height was 4' 8'', and his personality was shy. He didn't go out too often, but when he did, he tried to ignore everyone. He looked into Mike's window and saw a Pikachu. "What the..." He said, looking at the window. Oliver got up and walked away.

"Hey, Oliver, a package came for you when you were away." Oliver's mom told Oliver as he stepped in the door. "Thanks, mom!" Oliver responded, picking up the package and heading to his room.

Oliver tore open the box and saw a purple necklace. The gem that the necklace held was, of course, purple, and the thing holding the gem was a mix between purple and red, a weird color. Oliver removed the necklace from the box and stared at it. He put it around his neck, and it fit nicely. "I can't believe someone sent me this!" He cried in excitement.

He sat down on his bed and started playing a new video game, when all of a sudden, he felt a pain in his hand. Black fur was growing on his hand. He quickly realized this. "Oh god...what do I do??" He was freaking out. A tail burst from his pants, with a yellow ring-like shape near the middle of it. He sat on his bed and tried to figure out what to do. He felt his ears move up his head, and they had the same ring-like shape that his new tail did. He ran to his bedroom's bathroom, and saw as the whiteness of his eye turned red, and his pupils became black and even became a different shape. He lost his ability to stand on two legs, and also shrank to about half his size. "Oh god, no no no no..." He said to himself. He took off all of his clothes and watched as his face grew into a muzzle. "Wait, I'm becoming an Umbreon?!" He said, still looking in the mirror as best as he could. Once the rest of the transformation completed, he took off the necklace and threw it across the room, hitting the wall behind the TV and falling behind it, where lots of things got lost. "I...I guess this is my life now?" He asked himself. He locked the bedroom door and sat on his bed, staring at the window.

"It's kind of hard for me to open doors, close them, and get up and down the stairs." Mike said to his brothers. "Yeah, I can understand that." Samuel agreed. "You're cute, though. That's a point!" Samuel joked. Jonathan slapped him. "Oww..." He moaned. "I still don't want to go outside...what if trainers try to capture me?" Mike asked. "That's true. How about...you stay with us?" Jonathan asked. "Sounds like a good idea. Let's go to the park!" Mike said. Jonathan picked up the Pikachu (Mike, duh) and brought him to the park, with Samuel following.
