So Much for a First Date☔

After we get off the train, we make our way to the movie theater, sneaking looks at each other and blushing every time. I must admit that it feels great, even though Nagisa is a guy, but as the saying goes, the heart wants what it wants and at this point it only wants him. "So Nagisa, have you decided on what you want to watch yet?" I inquire calmly, but he just smiles. "It's a surprise" he giggles and as we enter the movie theater, I see he decided on a, what looks like, very violent action/horror movie. "Really Nagi. Do we have to watch this?" I pout, buy he giggles, "Come on Rei, it will be good for you." He tries to say with a straight face, but I can see the smile underneath. "Okay then, let's find a seat, shall we? Somewhere in the back." He grabs my hand and we're off to the first open seats he sees. "Hey Nagisa, Rei. What are you doing here?" A familiar voice asks and as I look up, I look into the face of Rin and sitting snuggly next to him is Sosuke. As I feel my heart start to pound violently in my chest, I look from them to Nagisa, wondering what he'll answer. "Well, actually, we're kinda...well kinda on our first date here. Never thought we'd run into anyone we know" Nagisa says and even in the dim light, I can see him blush again. "That's awesome. Hope you guys have a great time." Rin says and I didn't even realize how tense I was until now and as though giving us the privacy we want, Rin stares straight ahead waiting for the movie. "Well come on Rei, don't just stand there like a statue, the movie will start any second" he giggles and move past them to another seat a little further away. Okay that wasn't awkward and Rin being here with Sosuke is normal. They are childhood friends after all and they swim on the same team. As we take our seats, I glance over at them and see Sosuke whisper something into Rin's ear and what ever he said, made him smile. "Nagisa" I nudge him with my elbow, "do you think there is something more than just friendship between those two?" I ask and he gives me a cold look. "Rei, we are on our first date, now how about you just clear your mind and forget everything around you and we can watch this movie." And the irritation in his voice is clear. I look at him and nod and weave my fingers through his and squeeze. He squeezes back and I see the corners of his mouth tilting up and I know I made him smile.

As we leave the movie theater, we go to find some food. i now Nagisa and I know he'll be hungry. Even with all the snacks he ate during the movie, I know he can eat some more. "What do you want to eat Nagi?" I ask and he smiles. "Anything but Mackerel" at this I burst out laughing. "How about Ramen or teriyaki?" At is I nod and we enter the restaurant that is two blocks from the movie theater. As we enter, we find a seat near the window and place our orders. "Hey you two, so we heard you were on a date?" Oh come one, really now and as I turn to voice, I see Mako and Haru about to leave. "Yeah we are actually. So should I guess who told you?" I ask and look from Haru to Mako. "Nagisa told us yesterday actually and Rin sent Haru a message." Mako answers and it feels as though the wind is knocked out of my sails and as I stare at Nagisa, I can see he feels guilty and uncomfortable at the same time. "Hey, we're not gonna keep you. So you Monday at school." And they wave as they exit the door. "Rei...I'm sorry. I went to ask Mako's opinion and you know Haru and Mako are always together." He says quietly and I just shake my head. "We'll talk about it later Nagisa. Let's just eat and go home." I answer, but I don't look at him. How could he do is? It was our date, so why didn't he just come ask my opinion. After we're done and paid, we leave and head back for the train station, but neither of us says a word and the awkward silence has begun to suffocate me.
