Chapter 11

Epilogue

2 months later....

Luke's POV

Today It has been one year to the day I told Evelyn I loved her. I told her I wanted to get married that day and she said no. I tried again 2 months later and then 6 months after that. But she still says no. We have been living together and I think everyday my love her just gets stronger and stronger.

But today I'm taking the bull by the horns. We are in the final game of the season playing against the Canadians and we are close to taking the game. But to pump me up I have devised a half time treat. I figured if I proposed in front of everyone here she has to say yes.

Dirty play I know. But she told me that night she tied me up that all was fair in love and war. So during half time I have one of the announcers making their way to her in the bleachers as I have the other announce on the big screen my proposal.

The bell buzzed signaling half time and as everyone got off the ice. I made my way to the center of the rink. I saw myself on the big screen and I smiled. "Attention everybody, I'm sorry to take your half time away but I must do a very important thing and need some witnesses. You see for a year now I have been proposing to my woman. But she has always said no. But here I am now" I said as I went down on one knee.

"Here in front of all these people and the world who is watching on TV? I ask you one more time. It has been a year to the day, that I told you I loved you. Yet it seems impossible that my love for you has grown stronger and deeper. Will you marry me?" I said as I got down on one knee.

The room went quiet as they all waited in anticipation and I held my breath.

Evelyn's POV

What the hell is he doing? This is so not fair..but this is also, so him. I smirked as the cameras spanned to where I was and I saw the announcer heading my way. Well I guess he wants it this way. Then this way he'll have it.

When the announcer finally reached me I took the microphone. "Dirty play Turner." I said and they spanned to him.

"A beautiful woman once told me. All is fair in love and war." He said to me.

I smiled "My answer is yes" I said and the crowd went wild as he too did a back flip on the ice.

When the noise died down I said "Now ask me why I said yes this time."

They spanned to him and he looked confused but he asked. "Why did you say yes this time?"

"Because, I wanted our baby to be born with its mommy and daddy married." He had been standing up, but now he was back on his knees.

The crowd roared in happiness as his team mates all came out to congratulate him. But his eyes never left mine as he mouthed I love you to me.

Well what can I say? My baby's daddy won the game and we headed home to celebrate. We truly had been blessed. I wasn't expecting this little miracle but I am so happy. Because I have finally found my home and can stop the traveling and raise my baby. I blush thinking about the only time we didn't use a condom.

"Well baby, guess you are a Texan just like your daddy." I smirk as I rub my belly.

Luke's POV

8 months later....

As I look out at my wife and my baby boy growing strong in her belly almost ready to meet us. I can't do anything but think back to that day she came into my life. Who would have thought she would connect me to my past at the same time she connected me to my future.

I don't know what life has in store for us and my new family. But I am more than happy to find out.

Alexis seemed to have mellowed Grady. It didn't hurt that Alexis gave him a strapping son named Carter. He is only going to be a couple months older then my boy. So they will be able to grow up and become fine men together. They will also serve to protect and rat out all the girls in the family.

I smile as I think about Sergio and Rose and their daughter Megan. She sure does seem to have inherited her parents temper.

Then there's Jed and Reigna who had a little girl named Alia.

Roger and Molly have not conceived another and still only have Monica. For now Roger always says. While Molly says one is enough.

Victor and Mary had a little girl also named Giselle a very cute little thing.

But we must not forget the heart of the family for Michelle and Diego had a healthy girl named Mia. Because when she was born Diego said that baby girl is mine. Mia means mine in Spanish. A very appropriate name for the little one, I must say.

My only worry is what she will do once she grows and realizes she's stuck with 6 over protective brothers.

I laugh and continue to look and all that I gained in THE FINAL PLAY
