Grecia's POV

I turned over quickly in my bed, expecting Derek to be there. Much to my disappointment there had just been an empty space. The sun shone through the large window in the guest bedroom. I placed my hand over the empty spot, wondering what he was up to back home. Had he been angry I spent the night?

Although I was gone for one night it felt like an eternity. I imagined this forever - waking up in Isidore's castle. I imagined myself sleeping next to him every night, our future children crying in the early hours of the day.

I could not.

I pulled myself out of the bed, my feet hitting the marble flooring. I glanced at the clock and to my surprise, it had been almost noon. I never slept in this long, so I found it odd that I had been so tired.

I crept out of the room, two servants walking down the hall and they turned to bow to me. "Good morning your highness."

I nodded towards them, walking down the hall and descending the grand staircase to the main floor, which had still been a story above the ground. Creeping into the dining room, Isidore sat at the table sipping tea and reading over a letter.

"What's that?" I asked curiously. He looked up to me.

"Hm?" he looked back down to the letter, then folded it. "Oh, nothing." He put the letter away, smiling. "How'd you sleep, my princess?"

I furrowed my brows. Wasn't honesty the first part of a healthy relationship? I walked over to the table near Isidore, placing my hand on the back of my chair. "Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" I had usually woken up around eight or nine every day, I never slept in so late.

"I wanted to let you sleep." he chuckled, looking up at me. "Why, are you in a rush to leave?"

Yes, yes I was. "Well, I do have a lot to do today..." I lied, digging my toes into the ground.

"I was thinking we could have gone into town today." he said. Was he trying to keep me here forever? Derek would have probably had a panic attack if I wasn't home within the hour. Isidore stood up now.

"I really have to get home, I'm sorry." I said, taking a step back.

"Well, that'll be tough." he chuckled. "I mean, there's no boat here for you," he took another step towards me, the tips of his hair turning a deep charcoal. I bit my lip, taking another step back. "And you're utterly powerless."

I slit my eyes. Why was everyone bringing this up all of a sudden? I wasn't blind, I knew I had no powers, at least ever since I was eight.

Christopher took them away. Temporarily, at least. But now I had no idea where they were, considering he died before I could get them back.

"Why're you in such a rush? Is it because of him?" he taunted, his hair turning fully black now. He bore a smug little smile on his perfect features.

"Don't be absurd." I laughed light-heartedly, trying to calm him down. It hadn't been often one of his dark personas fronted around me, and even less often that it scared me. But for some reason, right now, I had been absolutely terrified.

I ran out of room to step back. I pressed myself up against the dining room wall and he placed one arm beside me, leaning against the wall. "Just marry me already, Grecia!" he almost yelled, a grin present on his face throughout all his words. His eyes were shaking as if he was filled with excitement. I knew full well he could easily kill me had he wanted to or even imprisoned me here without anyone knowing. He was a totally different person in his dark persona, and it seemed this time around I wasn't going to be able to stall it. "I wouldn't get like this if we were married." his words were slow, as if he were talking to a child.
