The Story of Her

Chapter 14 (The Undeniable)
Ruthy eyes widen as she heard the news that Courtney just laid upon her. Her dad wasn't around her life that much but to lose someone you were very close to was something she could very easily relate to. Her grandfather had died from cancer a few years back. One of the main reasons for them moving to Sunset Valley.
"Come here." She said pulling Courtney into a hug, "I know it hurts now but trust me he wouldn't want to see you like this."
"I-I-I was going to go to the mall with h-him and n-no-now he's gone." She choked out between each sob.
"Hey, I heard about this party that's happening tonight, we could crash it and try to drink ourselves happier?"
"I'd like that." Courtney mumbled into her shirt. Ruthy softly rubbed her back while she got all of her sobbing done before getting up and bringing her into her room to get ready. Courtney was and looked like a wreck.
"Okay, go into the bathroom across the hallway and take a quick shower, okay? When you get back I'll pretty you up."
Courtney nodded her head and slowly dragged herself into the bathroom. She had to call Ruthy to help her figure out the shower. She hated using other peoples bathrooms. She could never figure out how to work it properly. She took off her clothes laying them in a nice heap in the corner before going in. She took a deep breath and let it out.
"I'm going to be okay." She whispered to herself.
Ruthy was just finishing getting ready before Courtney came back into her room. She looked completely refreshed and less googly. She smiled faintly at her before making her put on a whole bunch of different outfits before finding the perfect one. Courtney ended up in a gray tank top that clearly hugged her perfect curves and showed just the right amount of boob with dark blue boot cut jeans from the one and only American Eagle. Ruthy was wearing her usual outfit, her shirt that read, 'I Don't Care, Go Away,' and her blue jeans. Nothing fancy, they were only going to a high school party.
"Come on, our ride is right outside." Ruthy grabbed Courtneys' hand and tugged her along saying a quick goodbye to her grandmother and exiting the house.
Her friend, Gary, was waiting for them in his 1989 Chevy Celebrity. It was old and starting to rust on the bottom but he swears it was his baby. That'll she'll always have him. Ruthy also thought he was weird but let him have his moment with his car.
"This is Courtney, Courtney Gary, and yeah." Ruthy said making the best introductions known to man kind.
"Hey." Courtney replied giving a small wave.
"Hey." Gary smiled, doing a quick look over, "Ready to go?"
"Of course!" Ruthy shouted, causing them both to flinch back, "Sorry."
Gary drove them the 15 minutes to the house where the party was. When they had arrived it was in full swing. People out side swagging around and people on the roofs doing who knows what. The music you could hear four blocks away. How the cops haven't stopped by is beyond them.
"If you need me just text me." Gary said putting his number into Courtneys' phone.
"Okay." She mumbled back.
He locked eyes with her for a few moments before nodding his head and heading into the house. Ruthy and Courtney followed loosely behind trying to get to the kitchen. The drinks they had were the average ones you'd find. Whiskey, Vodka, Beer (though they did have a nice variety of those), Tequila, and lastly Soda for the ones that didn't want to drink. Which if you'd ask Ruthy about that she'd say, "Be pointless to go to a party and only drink soda; what's the freaking point of even going?".
