I spent Saturday and Sunday sulking but not when dad was around, though. I didn't want to start that again with him. It just struck me about what happened. "I'm so stupid....I should've just kept quiet, especially around Don." Monday came and we were off. "1000 miles......." My dad said. "You ready, Alex?" "Yeah." I said lifelessly. "Ok." We drove for hours and stopped twice. About halfway there, we settled at a restaurant to eat. It was called 'Country's Barbeque'. When we went in, music was playing and they seated us. "I love coming to this place." Dad said as we waited on our food. "Yeah.." He looked at me. "Something wrong?" "No." "Yes it is....you've been quiet the whole time." I didn't say anything. "What's wrong, son?" "Well.....the SAT/ACT is next week and I'm just anxious about it." I lied. I couldn't tell him what really happened and ruin the trip. "Oh well that's natural son. Before I took it when I was your age, I studied every hour of the day." They placed our food on the table. "Thank you." We both said. Then, dad continued, "I was scared that I wasn't gonna pass it so I got sick before the test but I got better the day before it. Don't worry, you'll pass it." "Yeah, I have some type of confidence now haha." "Alex......I don't know what I'm gonna do with you." He laughed and we started eating.
