Paul gave a small grin as he glanced around the dorm.  He was finally here!   What a fiasco that was!  Switching at the last minute.  He knew it would all be worth it in the end though.  For a few reasons.  One particular reason.  Who didn't know he was here yet.

His parents already said their goodbyes, and left a few minutes ago.  Which gave him some time for unpacking.  And getting settled in.  Before he would go and take a small tour of the place.  So he could figure out where everything was.  Before classes started.

While he unpacked.  Paul's mind drifted.  Back to Washington D.C.  And to Melanie.  A soft smile played on his lips at the thought of her.  He missed her already.  But knew it wouldn't be long before their paths crossed.  Or at least he hoped it would.  Though it was a decent sized school.  There had to be some way he could find where she was staying right?

Paul got so distracted thinking about Melanie.  He stopped unpacking.  And walked back over, glancing out the window.  Watching as some passers by made their way to their dorms.  He was curious what she was doing at this moment.  If she was getting to know her roommate?  Unpacking, taking a tour of the grounds?  Though knowing Melanie.  She was probably propped up somewhere quiet with a good book on her lap.

Another small smile appeared at this thought.  Then a small sigh escaped.  He wished he could find where Melanie was now.  He hated being away from her for such a long period of time.  Since they'd started going out.  There was hardly any time where they weren't together.  And the week that he was away from her.  Was very difficult.

In fact.  Before they left for separate schooling.  They'd talked about splitting up.  Since they wouldn't be seeing each other for a whole year.  Which Paul didn't like at all.  And was glad he could talk Melanie out of that idea.  Especially now, how things ended up.

Paul was about to glance down at the time.  Realizing he got distracted.  When he spotted a familiar figure.  Walking out of the main building.  He knew the redhead anywhere.  His heart raced at the sight of her.  And it took everything in him not to rush to her.  Calm yourself Paul.  Get settled first.  You'll see her again.

Paul watched as Melanie made her way back to her dorm.  Ducking when he noticed her turning down the sidewalk that was closest to his window view.  Another sigh escaped his lips. That was close.  Seeing the time on his watch.  Paul wandered back over to his bag.

Once he finished unpacking.  Paul decided to call it an evening.  Choosing to get some rest before classes started.  Falling into a restless sleep, with Melanie remaining on his mind.
