What You'll Need:
White T-Shirt
Tie-dye kit or clothing dye
Rubber Bands
Rubber gloves
Let's Go Get This Colorful Party Started!
Directions://
1.Protect your work surface by laying down trash bags.Then,soak your shirt in water-that helps the dye set!
2.Starting at the center of the wet T-shirt,twist it counterclockwise to create the swirl effect.Keep twisting until your shirt is in a round shape.Secure with three overlapping rubber bands to create six equal pie wedges for you to dye.
3.While wearing gloves,apply a different color dye to each wedge,making sure to get it deep into the folds.Try to keep the colors separate,but remember,there are no mistakes in tie-dying!
4.Place your dyed shirt in a plastic bag,and let sit foray least 6-8 hours (your can leave it for up to 24 hours to make the colors even more vibrant!)
5.Undo the rubber bands.Now,you'll need to rinse the shirt thoroughly to get rid of any extra dye.Do this by running it under the faucet in your bathtub-the water that drips from the shirt will be full of color for a while.Keep rinsing your shirt until the water runs completely clear.Then,it's safe for you to throw the shirt in the wash and wear-just be sure to wash it separately the first few times!
