// I had to cut this chapter in half. it's probably a bit short Idk.
After what felt like days in comforting sleep, Chara woke up
Blinking her eyes open, Chara felt warmth surround her, covered in a heavy, familiar fabric.
It was a blanket, and Chara just happened to be in a bed, in a gray hued room.Chara gazed around with crimson eyes, contemplating where she was and the reality of the situation.
Pulling herself up, she stepped out of the bed and stood on the wooden tile floor.
To her left was a curtained window, and that was all that was in the room.
Chara turned around and walked to the wooden door, opening it, and glancing down the hall.It seemed to be a simple, single story house with three rooms, Chara's included.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Chara called quietly.
"Oh, goodness!" A deep voice replied,
"You're awake!" The voice got closer as a large, familiar, golden-bearded goat man walk over to her.Chara couldn't help but smile at the sight of her beloved father — after all the years, he hadn't changed.
Bright eyes full of kindness and hope, one eye gleaming orange, the other blue. He towered three feet over Chara, but he no longer intimidated her."Oh my goodness, dad.. I— I haven't seen you for so long.." Chara murmured, voice hardly over a whisper.
Asgore smiled slightly, kneeling down and embracing Chara,
Chara wrapped her arms around her foster father, resting her forehead against his chest, holding him as close as she could.
"I'm so sorry for what I did, Dad, I didn't mean to, I—"
"Chara, be quiet. You have no reason to be sorry, none of this was your fault. We are all confused, and we don't know why or how you're here, but the most we can do is be thankful for you returning to us after all these years.." Asgore smiled, pulling away from the hug to ruffle Chara's already messy hair.
"You haven't changed a bit, Chara." He smiled, laughing heartily, before grimacing,
"Unfortunately, we have. You have missed a lot in your.. prolonged absence." Asgore stated,
"I want you to understand something. Your mother and I aren't close for... reasons we don't discuss, but she lives across the way. On that note, we've decided that you will be staying here, with me. Frisk lives across the street with Toriel, and you are allowed to visit them whenever you'd like." Asgore reassured."Oh, well. Alright! That makes sense. Thanks, Dad." Chara smiled, hugging him,
"You have no reason to thank me.. perhaps you should visit your mother. She wishes to see you, and requested I direct you her way when you woke up. I must say, you're a very heavy sleeper. Heavier than before, anyways.." Asgore commented.
Chara laughed,
"Ahaha... how long did I sleep?" She asked,"About 20 hours. I think you woke up, but fell immediately back to sleep." He explained.
Chara's eyes widened, before she giggled a small bit,
"Well then. Alright. I'll... I'll be back soon?" Chara wondered, giving Asgore one last tight squeeze before walking down the hall.
She could hear him call,
"Alright, Chara! When you get there, be sure to ring the doorbell!"
It seemed random.
