Nina
I quietly reflected on everything that had happened in Gransfortham as it disappeared from my sights,
Maybe this is all just some long messed up dream .. maybe I'm in a comma I thought while I sat beside Dilly at the window seat.
"If you hate planes so much why do you always take a window seat?" Dilly asked.
Noticing my discomfort.
"I wanted to see Gransfortham for one last time," I breathed onto the glass. Shaking slightly as I tried to shake off the emotions threatening to clog my throat.
"It's okay" , she Hugged me before going back to watching her series.
... is it?
.....
"We're here" Chadmond announced when the plane landed.
"You think We didn't know that? Genius?" Roderick ridiculed as we descended the plane.
"Where are we?" I asked Chad while he pulled me to his side.
"Somewhere you'll be safe, somewhere without all that crazy floating around "
He smiled as he took in a deep whiff of the air. "Connecticut "
......
We rolled in a small van on a beautiful residential area with kids playing around , people walking dogs and same looking houses. Everything here screamed happiness , it created a warm feeling in my chest I hadn't felt for a long time.
"Why do all the houses look the same?" Dilly asked as she woke up from her drive induced nap.
"Were staying in an estate" he smiled at me in the mirror "What do you think Nina?"
I smiled back at him. Perfect.
...
He literally almost ran up the stairs while he showed us around the house.
I almost felt cooped up here. I guess I was getting a little bit too comfortable in the castle.
"This is your room Nina" he opened the door to show me a beautiful turquoise , black and white decorated room.
"Wow." I slowly stepped inside the room and looked around . "It's beautiful "
"I knew you would like it" a smirk crawled across his face... his smile reaching up into tired looking eyes.
"Where's your room?" I asked him.
"It's right beside yours."
"how did you even get this house."I asked
"I have a few friends here.i made some friends while looking for you ... and now I've found you," he grabbed me by he waist and pulled me against him. "I'm not letting you go..even when you want to"
"I don't think I'll ever want to leave" I giggled at him . "Where's Nina's room?"
"At the other side of the house. Roderick's room is there too... I really don't want to hear all that..stuff" he scrunched up his face and made a disgusted face.
"What are you? A preschooler? Stop being so childish .. let them be" I slapped his arm playfully.
"Fine" he laughed before pulling me for a warm kiss.
....
We were all in our pjs ,like a bunch of kids at a sleepover.
"I'm starving! Did you bring us here to die !?" Roderick whined while Dilly giggled beside him.
"Chill would ya. I'm ordering pizza " he put his hand up in a sassy way .
I sat quietly watching everyone move around happily ...laughing ,like they were meant to be here ... I didn't understand why I still felt empty. The love around just stung like a bunch of highly energized alpha rays. It hurt but it wasn't going anywhere.
Riiing.
"Guys the pizza's here" Dilly opened the door and brought in the two big boxes with a bag of cold drinks .
"You're trying to fatten us up ,then you'll eat us. Won't you " I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Well maybe just you, I won't cook Dilly , and Roderick would give me acid reflux "
"Dude!" Roderick spoke with a mouth full of pizza. " by the way this sauce is amazing"
"Lemme try that" I sat beside Roderick on the couch and pulled a slice of warm pizza from the box, "ooh and it came with garlic bread? ... heaven"
I rolled my eyes back , that pizza tasted so good.
....
"Goodnight Everyone " I slowly closed the door before running to my bed and Diving straight in. The sheets were fresh and cool .
...
It had been two hours since I plopped onto my bed..
the odds were never in my favor cause every time I closed my eyes I opened them a minute later . It felt like there was fire in my eyelids.
I went to the bath room and splashed some water on my face.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror . For a split second I saw myself as the monster that I am. Horns , blood and all,
"I need some sleep" I shook my head at the monster in the mirror , the monster that stared at me with unblinking black eyes.
...
I went to Dilly's room but she wasn't there. She must have been with Roderick.

Slowly and painfully I dragged myself to Chads door before resting my forehead against the cold wood of the door, what if he's asleep.. what if he thinks I'm intruding?... sigh.
I slowly opened the door and walked inside the room. The lights were still on.
He was asleep , he looked so peaceful.
Slowly but carefully I pulled down the blankets on the empty side of the bed and wiggled in.
It was warm. And it smelled like Chad.. obviously
I looked at the sleeping being on the other side of the bed his hair was a mess, the brown of his roots were showing more now. And he had cut some of the edges.. it was still quite long.
"I love you Chadmond" , I pecked him on the cheek before covering my head with the blanket .
"If you wanted to kiss me you could have just said so" I heard a gravelly voice say .
"You were awake the whole time?" I felt a blush crawl up my cheeks.
"I love you too Nina, " he left a tiny kiss on my cheeks.
I felt tears roll down my cheeks without my content.. and just like that I broke down.
"Shhh, it's okay Nina. We're safe.. I'm here.. we're here together . I'll never let you go, "
"Promise"
"I promise Nina...I'll never let anything happen to you" he kissed my shoulder. "Go to bed Nina.. sleep"
I let him wipe the tears from my red face, sighing as I let him wrap his arms around me ,
Things were finally starting to look up.
