Bryce's POV:

"Bryce, i've already told you no. Lil will be staying your partner for the entire duration of this project."

I turn away from my teacher and roll my eyes, only then to see Lil shaking, with her head down on the desk. Now i feel bad, but she was the one who wanted to meet new people. I want to be friends with her, but if she doesn't like me then we obviously can't be friends.

Maya and i approach her at the same time, Maya glaring at me as i come closer. I sit in the empty chair next to Lil and wrap my arm around her. She shys away from me, and Maya pulls my arm off her. I tell her i'm sorry, but still she keeps her head firmly on the desk. Maya is repeatedly telling me to leave but now i can't, i can't just leave her crying all because of me. I have to make it up to her somehow- but i can't do it right now. It has to be good to get her to forgive me. I'm going to need Mikey's help.

Mikey's POV:

Bryce and i decide that we have to do something that shows we've put effort into this, but also something not too serious because we don't want her to think we're arsewipes or something lol.

I'm going to get my mum to bake us one of those rainbow cakes, and Bryce and i are going to ice 'sorry Lil' on the top after school. Then we'll text her to come outside the house, and the cake we'll be there (and then when she sees it we'll pop out of the bushes we're going to hide in).

Lil's POV:

The rest of the day is, thankfully, uneventful. I get a lift home from Bryce, but i've still not properly talked to him or Mikey.

I'm annoyed at myself for making the situation into a huge deal, when i should've just asked Bryce not to do it again. And, Mikey didn't even do anything wrong at all. He's been nothing but nice to me. Only i could have managed this on my first day at a new school.

They drop me off outside my front door, and i go in to find my little sister Marnie and the childminder. As soon as i get home, the childminder can leave. They're playing on the trampoline outside, they seem to be getting on fine, which is a relief, because Marnie was worried last night. Her name is Ellie, and she actually seems really nice.

I have to drop Marnie off at her gymnastics club, which is about a five minute walk away. Dad made sure she was enrolled into a good club as soon as we got here, because in England, we were told Marnie might even be one day good enough to go to the olympics.
While Ellie's leaving, i send Marnie upstairs to get changed into her leotard, and a few minutes later we leave.

Mikey's POV:

Icing is a lot harder to do than it sounds. It looks awful, but, at least she'll know we iced the cake then, hopefully. We place the cake on its stand outside her front door, ring the doorbell, and run to hide behind the bushes. We wait for a minute or two, and still no one comes to open the door. Bryce gets up and goes to ring the bell again.

Lil's POV:

As i'm coming up the driveway i see Bryce ringing my doorbell.

"Hello?" i shout, and he turns his head to see me.

"Damn," he says, laughing. Then Mikey appears out of a bush, both of them in hysterics. I start laughing, only because they're laughing, and i ask them what they're doing. It's only as i come up to the door i notice the cake. It has 'sorry' shakily iced on it, and i smile, pulling them in for a hug.

"I'm the one that should be sorry," i tell them.

"No, you're not. And sorry about our bad icing," Mikey jokes. We all start laughing, and i invite them in so we can eat some of the big cake. I text Maya and tell her to come too.

***********************************

"Bye guys, see you tomorrow," i wave goodbye to Bryce, Mikey and Maya as they leave.
I can't believe they made such a big effort for a girl they met today (well i guess Bryce met me like three days ago or something but still). I'm so thankful for them, and i only even met them today!? Honestly i didn't even think that was possible.

***********************************

Throughout the next week, things go smoothly with my three new friends. I've really started to properly trust Maya, and i think Mikey and i are quite flirty some of the time. Bryce is the twin brother i never had, and teases me, protects me and helps me all the time. I'm actually surprisingly happy here in America so far, but i'm missing everyone back home massively.

My three new best friends and i hang out most nights after school, except Tuesday- i have dance lol. Mikey and i have made a joke of calling eachother 'boo' as a little joke and Maya and i have made plans to have a girls night this weekend.
