The next day, Victoria told Emilia she had a girls guide meeting to attend. Emilia wasn't sure if she should believe her because she had never mentioned it before, but couldn't really tell since she doesn't pay attention to her. She asked Cynthia (Julie) to escort her and make sure Victoria doesn't talk unnecessarily. So everything worked out great. They arrive at the address the diary gave.

Cynthia: This should be the place.

*She knocks, a lady opens*

Victoria: Hello, I'm Victoria and this is Cynthia. We are looking for a Juliet, we have something for her.
Grace: Hi, I'm Grace. Juliet is my daughter, she's not home yet. She went on a vacation with her boyfriend.
Cynthia: Well that explains why she kept talking about him in the diary. (she whispers to Victoria)
Grace: I can hear you, and yes Juliet loves her boyfriend very much. You guys look tired, come in for some tea or a drink. What ever you teens like.
Victoria: It's okay ma'am. We are fine.
Cynthia: I could use a drink (she says as she walks in)
Victoria: Cyn...?

*She is already sitting comfortably on the couch*

Victoria: So how did her diary find it's way to the mansion?
Grace: She worked for your father years ago, and was really comfortable and all, she was 24 and felt like she needed more in life, so she quit after she thought she found a better job.
Cynthia: Thought?
Grace: Yes, obviously the job wasn't good since she's still living with me in this mini oven. (she giggles)
Victoria: Your house is beautiful.
Grace: Thank you dear.

After the drink, the girls were refreshed and ready to go back home. They returned the diary, said their goodbyes and left. They are in a bus.

Victoria: She was nice.
Cynthia: Yeah, she really was. But some things didn't add up.
Victoria: What's that?
Cynthia: She doesn't look more than 40 years and her daughter was 24 years old some years ago. According to the dates in the dairy it was written like 12-13 years ago. If her daughter was 24 years old 13 years ago, it means she should be like 37 this year. She can't possibly have a daughter that age. Even if she's 50 which she's not, it will still be impossible to have a 37 year old daughter. Only if she got pregnant when she was 12, and gave birth 13.
Victoria: You're confusing me.
Cynthia: I'm a bit confused myself but I'm just been logical. And ain't all the books your dad collect carefully sorted out? It's impossible for any book to get to his library if they aren't approved.
Victoria: Except it was kept there by someone who had access to the library from the house.
Cynthia: Whatever, it doesn't matter anyway. She kind of reminds me of someone.
Victoria: Yeah, she really looks like Ms Evergreen, especially from behind.
Cynthia: Yeah.
Victoria: Wait, what did you say is the name of the owner of the diary?
Cynthia: Juliet K. Sand.
Victoria: Sand?
Cynthia: Yep.
Victoria: That's Ms Evergreen's last name too.
Cynthia: Hmm, I never knew. Can we talk about this later? My head is starting to hurt.
Victoria: Yeah, later.

At the mansion, Emilia has been giving Matthias attitude. He could swear something was wrong.

Matthias: I can't take this anymore Emile, what is going on?
Emilia: What do you mean?
Matthias: You've been acting a little bit weird lately, it's killing me.
Emilia: If you did nothing wrong then you shouldn't be worried or dying.
Matthias: Well, you can't really tell with women, there's always something with them.
Emilia: And you're suddenly a women's expert.
Matthias: Emile if there's something you want to tell me, please do. I don't like feeling like this.
Emilia: And why should I care how you feel? I'm so stupid to have trusted you, and risk loosing my husband by bringing you here.
Matthias: Why are you saying these things Emile? You did it cos you love me and want to spend every second with me, remember?
Emilia: Who is Veronica?
Matthias: Veronica? I don't know anyone with that name or at least not closely.
Emilia: Don't you lie to me!
Matthias: I'm not, I promise.
Emilia: A woman named Veronica came looking for you with a boy probably your son, she said it was urgent.
Matthias: What??
Emilia: Quit playing dumb Matthias.
Matthias: I'm not, I really don't know what you're talking about.
Emilia: You must see me like a complete idiot.
Matthias: I love you Emile, maybe a little more than I should. I'll never do anything to hurt you.
Emilia: You can lie to me about your relationships, and family, but don't ever lie to me about your feelings for me. I want you out of my house today.
Matthias: Emilia, okay I'm going to be honest. I do have a family. I left home because of the expectations everyone had from me. I couldn't stand the pressure so I ran away, and have fend for myself since then. I met you and saw how classy you are, I knew I had no chance if I told you I am a high school drop out. I'm sorry.
Emilia: You know me Matthias, I don't like repeating myself.
Matthias: Okay, I'll leave. But I'll check on you everyday, whether you want it or not.

He leaves as Victoria and Cynthia walks in, they knew something was wrong by how tense the environment seems. Cynthia hated the look on Matthais' face, she didn't mean to  cause him any hurt or pain. At night, Vicky and Cynthia meets up for a talk.

Victoria: Today was pretty rough. You okay?
Cynthia: I'm okay, still feel pretty bumped seeing Matthias like that.
Victoria: He's your brother, you're right to feel that way.
Cynthia: Yeah. What about you? You look dead inside.
Victoria: I do? Well not completely. I read the diary.
Cynthia: How?
Victoria: You took pictures of all the pages remember?
Cynthia: Oh yeah, so??
Victoria: Juliet K. Sand's handwriting is exactly the same with the one my mum wrote in the letter.
Cynthia: The one Emilia burnt?
Victoria: Yeah,  you don't have to remind me.
Cynthia: You can't be so sure it's the same.
Victoria: I am, I read that letter everytime I had the chance, probably 300 days a year (she begins to cry)
Cynthia: Vicky, what's wrong? please talk to me..
Victoria: Her name is Juliet Krook Sand. She's my mother. She left me because she fell in love with a man who wasn't my father. My dad made her choose to either stay and raise me or run away with her boyfriend and never return. (crying)
Cynthia: She chose her boyfriend. I'm so sorry Vicky. Please stop crying, you're gonna make me cry too.
Victoria: I always thought she was in trouble or faced with a really tough choice, like literally a life or death situation. Now that I know, I wish she was dead and I hate Emilia even more. I should have burnt that letter myself.
Cynthia: Vicky, you're starting to scare me. You need to calm down okay? Tomorrow we'll get more answers. You can't just jump into conclusions because of a book.

Victoria's heart broke into pieces that night. While Cynthia thought tomorrow would hold more answers, Victoria knew it will tear her even more.
