Love You, Hate You, Miss You (Sequel to I'll Fight For You)

Chapter Nineteen.

Sadie's P.O.V.

I heard a knock on the door. I rolled over and opened my eyes a crack and was greeted by the bright sunlight peaking in through the blinds.

"Who is it?" I mumbled.

"It's just Darry can I come in?" He asked.

"Yep." I yawned throwing my feet over the edge of the bed.

"Well good morning newly weds." He said Soda was just waking up as well.

"Mornin' what time is it?" Soda asked.

"About 11:30." He said.

"Oh my."

"Is it a huge mess downstairs?" I asked.

"Not anymore. Pony and I have been cleaning while you two and Claire slept. By the way did either one of you tell him she could sleep over?" He said.

"Darry you didn't have to clean up all that mess I was going to and yeah I told him Claire could stay over. It was late and dark out and I didn't want them walking alone. Plus Ponyboy wanted her to sleepover and I trust him. Besides I could tell they were way too tired to even try anything. Claire was practically falling asleep on the couch." I explained.

"Oh that's fine then. I can't even begin to tell you how many girls Soda has had sleep over here. And believe me he was never too tir-"

"Um Darry you don't need to finish that." Sodapop said hurriedly.

"You can tell me later when Soda's at work some time." I said with a wink.

Soda's face turned a bright shade of pink. "Uh I don't think that's necessary. None of those girls matter anymore. Now that I have you." He said putting his hands on my waist pulling me closer to him. He leaned down to kiss me.

I put my finger on his lips. "Nice try Romeo." I said.

"Drat. So Darry what's for breakfast?" Soda asked.

"Well breakfast was hours ago. You guys slept through it but lunch will be ready soon." He answered.

"Well then. What's for lunch?" I asked.

"Sandwiches" he answered.

"Well then! Let's go eat some sandwiches!" I said.

We went downstairs and found Ponyboy and Claire on the couch swapping spit.

"Woah-ho-ho look at you go!" Sodapop said.

They jumped apart and both started blushing so much they looked like a couple of tomatoes!

"Awe don't worry guys. You don't have to be embarrassed." I said.

"I should get going" Claire said standing up.

"Oh you don't have to go because of my family" Ponyboy said chasing Claire out of the house.

We all laughed. We ate our sandwiches then Soda and I decided to go for a walk.

We walked out of the house and started down the road. "Hey sorry about my brothers. You don't get much alone time in that house." He said running his fingers through his perfectly greased hair.

"No it's okay. It's better than my house growing up. All you'd get is alone time. No one cared about you." I answered.

"Well now you don't have to worry about that. There is always someone around to care." He said.

"Especially me." He added kissing me on the forehead.

He put his arm around me and we walked in silence for a while. We walked until I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Sadie what's wrong?" Sodapop asked.

I pointed to a tall dark mysterious figure leaning against a tree in the distance.

"Sadie what is it. Do you know who that is?" He asked.

"Yeah I do."

"Who?"

"Hello Sadie." He said coming out of the shadows.

"My brother." I let out.

"I guess my wedding invite got lost in the mail huh?" He said.

"What are you doing here, Daren?" I asked.

"I could ask you the same thing. Sis." He said.

"Daren why aren't you with Mom and Dad?" I asked.

"Why aren't you?"

"Why are you dodging my questions?" Now I was getting frustrated. He was starting to get on my nerves.

"Why are you dodging mine?"

"UGH!" I screeched in frustration. Daren chuckled. He knew exactly what to do to get me frustrated. He always had.

"Awe what's wrong Sade? Didn't you miss me?" He asked stepping closer. Soda wrapped his arm tighter around my waist protectively.

"It's okay babe." I whispered.

"No. I don't miss you. My life has been so much better without you and mom and dad." I said.

"Oooo ouch. I'm actually surprised you aren't still living with them actually." He said.

"You know why I'm not living with them anymore?" I asked.

"Why did daddy's little princess get kicked out of the house?" He said.

"They left me Daren. I went out one day and when I came home they were gone okay. And I'm glad they did too."

"Oh boo hoo mommy and daddy left."

"THATS IT!" I screamed. I ran out of Sodapop's arms and jumped on top of Daren. I pinned his arms to the ground with my knees I began punching him.

"You never could beat me in a fight could you Daren." I said.

Soda tried to pull me off of my brother. "Sadie you know this isn't right. You aren't this kind of person." Sodapop said finally getting me off Daren.

"Stay away from Daren and stay out of my life." I yelled at my brother and Soda and I went home.

We walked in and Darry and Pony looked scattered. They looked like they were waiting for us to get home because as soon as we entered the room the both looked at us with worried faces.

"Good you guys are here Dally call-" Darry said.

"Wait what happened? Sadie why are you covered in mud?" He finished.

"That doesn't matter what did Dally say?" I said.

"Lucy's in the hospital and this time it's bad."
