Ch. IX

Days after that, Sakumi started noticing that she would see Kyuta just run off somewhere. Since she would wake up early for her stall, she was the only person who saw him. But he didn't notice that the fox girl was watching him as he ran to the alleyway.
Sakumi wasn't sure where he was going, and she didn't wish to pry, but one day, curiosity killed the cat.

Sakumi was at her stall waiting for the grown human boy to run by. Right when she yawned, she noticed Kyuta run by.
"Kyuta!" she waved
The human boy jumped when he heard someone call him. When he turned around he noticed it was just Sakumi. He quickly made his way to her stall, making sure no one else saw him.
"H-hey Sakumi" he greeted, "Why are you so early?"
"I'm always up this early" she smirked when she saw him tense up, "where have you been heading almost everyday?"
Kyuta hesitated for a bit but then looked at her right in the eye, "I found out how to go to the human world" he answered, "I've been going there, learning how to read, write, do math and everything that I haven't done"
Sakumi's eyes widened, "Really!?"
"Shhhh!"
"Sorry, but does Kumatestu know about this?"
"Do you think I'd be sneaking around if he knew?"
Sakumi hesitated about her next question, "So, how is it in the human world?" she had grown up in the Beast world. Sakumi had never seen the Human world or heard things about it. And she, being half human, was curious about the human world.
"It's huge, and I don't think there's much difference to this place besides the technology" he explained, "I say it's more or less then same" he then looked at Sakumi who had a look of wonder in her eyes, "you wanna come?" he asked
The fox's eyes widened at his question. So sudden.
"Come on, you're half human, I'm pretty sure you're curious about this" he said
"b-but what about my tail?" she asked
"Hide it" he simply said, "you can hide it under your clothes, and your ears, well I've seen people walking around with fake ears you could say their fake"
Sakumi thought about it for  bit, "I guess, as long as we come back in time" she said. Ichirohiko  will come and check in on her later and notice that she's gone if they take too long.

Without another word, Kyuta grabbed her hand and they both made their way to the alleyway. Sakumi followed Kyuta and once they were close to the entrance, Kyuta let her have a few seconds so she could hide her tail under her clothes.
Then they kept walking through the crowds. As Kyuta pulled her by her hand, Sakumi looked everywhere. He was right, it does look like the Beast world. The only difference being the technology that everyone was using. Everywhere they went was really loud though, it hurt her ears.
They made it to some big building. Then Sakumi noticed a girl waiting outside. She got up and smiled at Kyuta.
"Ren!" she called
'Ren?' Sakumi thought
"Hey Kaede, this is my friend Sakumi" Kyuta answered, "I wanted to show her around for a bit"
"Oh, well it's nice to meet you Sakumi" she said, "you have a very pretty and unique name"
"T-thanks, I like your name too" Sakumi replied
"oh wow, those ears are nicely made too, where did you get them?"
"u-um-"
"ah she made them" Kyuta answered for her, "Sakumi has a talent with her hands"
"So you're an art major?"Kaede asked
"Yup she is" Kyuta once again answered for her

After a while, Sakumi noticed how determined Kyuta was about learning all these things. And before she knew it, the day had ended.
Sakumi and Kyuta ran back through alleyways. Sakumi was following after Kyuta, since he was the one who knew the way. After a bit of running, Sakumi and Kyuta finally made it back to the Beast world. They both ran to her stall and that's when they noticed that someone was waiting on her counter.

It was Ichirohiko.

He saw them coming and narrowed his eyes when he noticed Kyuta right behind her. He jumped off her counter and went up to Sakumi, ignoring Kyuta.
"where have you been?" he asked once Sakumi was in front of him
After Sakumi caught her breath, she looked up at him, "no where, I just went for a walk with Kyuta" she answered. She didn't know how Ichirohiko would feel about her going to the Human world. Not like she was gonna go again, she just wanted to see the world from her human half. "Don't worry, business was a bit busy so I decided to take a walk and bumped into Kyuta" she lied again, 'If I'm lucky he only visited the stall right now' she thought
Ichirohiko smiled and patted her head, between her ears, "ok then" then looked at Kyuta with a fake smile, "thank you for walking Sakumi back" he said and grabbed her hand, "but we have to get going, we're late for dinner" he said giving Kyuta his best fake smile and walked off with Sakumi, who waved at Kyuta as she walked.

After dinner, and avoiding the human world topic, Sakumi went to her room and got ready for bed. Once she had her night clothes on, there was a knock on the door.

"Sakumi"

It was Ichirohiko.

"Come in" she said as she sat on her bed. Ichirohiko walked in, removing the scarf-like tassels from around his face, and closed the door behind him. "whats up Ichi?" she asked, "don't you need to go to sleep early today? I thought you were gonna practice tomorrow"
"where were you?"
Sakumi blinked at his question that came out of the blue. "huh?"
"Where were you?" he repeated, staying on his spot near the door
"I told you, I was walking with-"
"no you weren't" Ichirohiko interrupted, "I didn't just check up on you that one time, Sakumi" he said, "I went to your stall probably more than 10 times, to see if you were there" he explained and Sakumi was cursing at herself in her head, "where were you?" he repeated

He didn't raise his voice. Even though he didn't, it still made Sakumi feel like she did a bad thing and disappointed him.
"I-" she hesitated. She was worried what he'd do if she told him that she was in the human world with Kyuta. The boy already doesn't like him. "I was with Kyuta" she said lowering her head, and her ears, so her bangs were covering her eyes.
"where?"
"He....he took me..to the.......human world" she said slowly

She didn't hear him do anything, or say anything, for a bit. She raised her head so that she could see what he was doing. He had a sort of look of horror on his face. His eyes were wide and his mouth was opened slightly.
"what?" he questioned once Sakumi was completely looking at him, "What were you doing there?" he whispered, making sure his family didn't listen, "why would you go there?"
"I was curious" she simply said, "I'm half human, Ichi" she said standing up, "I wanted to see where mom came from" she said, "where half of me is from"

Ichirohiko sighed and went to sit on her bed, "what did you do bout your ears and tail?" he asked
Sakumi sat next to him, "I hid my tail and Kyuta said that some people wear fake ears, so I had them out but people looked at me a bit funny" she explained
Ichirohiko didn't look at her, "and how was it, for you?"
"it was ok, it's not that different from this world" she explained, "its just a lot bigger and a lot more crowded. It was so noisy too, and there was so many smells too, like if there was food everywhere" she chuckled, "and obviously the smell of hu-"

Ichirohio looked at her when she stopped mid-word. Her eyes were wide, as if she realized something. "What?"
Sakumi was in deep thought to hear him. Was that it? Was that the smell coming off Ichirohiko?Human? Sure Sakumi was around Kyuta, but today was the first time she spent that much time with him. And with all the human scents, he blended right in. Now that she had many other scents to compare to, Sakumi was sure that Ichirohiko................had a human scent! Sakumi mentally  shook her head. There was no way Ichirohiko could be human....right? He's a bear beast's son. But.....what about his features? Sakumi turned her head to peek at him. He was starring at her, still waiting for a reply, but still hasn't realized. Ichirohiko did have the features of many the many humans she saw back at their world, but it can't be that he's human....right?

"Sakumi!"
The fox girl blinked when she finally heard him.
"you've been starring at me for a while, and you've been quiet for a while" he said as he brought up his hand to her forehead, "maybe it was being in their world or something" he said in thought. He sighed and stood up, "you should get some sleep....and forget about it" he added quietly, but Sakumi still heard him. "rest up Sakumi" he said kissing her cheek and walked out of her room.

How could she, when the thought of her boyfriend being a human, was stuck in her head.

I hope you liked this chapter I've been working on. Is it getting good for you guys?

I'm actually at my college right now, but I'm waiting on my cousin to finish up work so I can take her home. So i got on wattpad and started finishing up this chapter. College sure is different from High School alright. But I haven't met a HW wall yet, so that's good.
