Ch. XII

The next day, Ichirohiko and Jiromaru woke Sakumi up early so that they'd be prepared for the match. As they made their way to the arena, Sakumi let out a yawn.
"Hey Sakumi" Jiromaru called, "are you excited about the match?"
"I actually am" she said, "Kumatetsu and Iouzen have both gotten strong, I actually think it will be a really good match"
She heard Ichirohiko scoff lightly, "Father will beat that blockhead easily" he said under his scarf.
She looked worriedly at her boyfriend. Recently, Ichirohiko had been ignoring the fact that Kyuta and Kumatestu had changed and that the bear beast had improved a lot on his fighting. She herself saw him training with Iouzen one time and he told her how Kumatetsu had improved in his movements.

Being the kids of Iouzen, Ichirohiko and Jiromaru get to have reserved seat up close to the fight. And Sakumi being friends with Jiromaru and Ichirohiko's girlfriend, she got to sit next to them too.
After what seemed forever, Iouzen and Kumatetsu finally came out. But, Sakumi noticed that Kumatetsu looked a bit down. 'I think Kyuta said he fought with him' she thought, 'did he not go back to his home yesterday, or did he have another fight with him?'

(I can't really explain fights so go and watch the fight or something haha. This chapter might be short because of it)

Kumatetsu let out a loud roar and Iouzen did the same, probably thinking it was a battle cry. Sakumi chuckled at them and waiting for Ichirohiko and Jiromaru to sit next to her. After being explained the rules, they both got in their stances.

"Start the match!"
And with that, Kumatetsu ran up to Iouzen. Once in front of him, Kumatetsu grew in size and started punching at Iouzen.
'This doesn't look good'
Kumatestu punched Iouzen right into the wall.
"Dad" Jiromaru called, worriedly
"Just shut up and watch" Ichirohiko said, his eyes not living his father.
Kumatestu got on all fours and started charging Iouzen when he emerged from the smoke. Iouzen dodged him and Kumatetsu made a turn to charge him again, but Iouzen only dodged him again.
"There you see" Ichirohiko said as Jiromaru cheered, "how about it, Sakumi?"
"Ole" she chuckled as she watch Iouzen dodge Kumatestu one more time
Kumatestu started running to Iouzen again, who had his (sheathed) sword ready. As they passed each other Iouzen was able to hit Kumatestu. While Kumatetsu was getting up, Iouzen changed his form and started charging at him. Iouzen hit him, making his sword fly away from him. As he made a run for it, Iouzen blocked his path.
"Beat him already" Ichirohiko muttered
Iouzen made a small turn as he ran to Kumatetsu and hit him. He a made another turn and hit again.
'It can't be over already' Sakumi thought as she watched Kumatetsu get knocked around over and over again, 'here I was actually excited about a match and now it's gonna be over already?'
Iouzen ran straight at Kumatetsu and knocked him into the air, making him hit the ground hard. When they noticed that he wasn't moving, they started counting down.
"He can't just give up like that" Sakumi said, "Can he?"
"Looks like the blockhead learned his place" Ichirohiko said
Sakumi turned to look at him. His attitude was really starting to get to her. All this time he's been dissing Kumatetsu. Since she was a neutral person, she was willing to see which of these two, who were evenly matched in her eyes, would win. But Ichirohiko was to focused on his father winning to see it, like everyone else was.
"Kyuta!" Jiromaru called
Sakumi whipped her head forward and saw the human boy standing on the edge of the battle ground.
The human boy took a breath and started shouting at the bear beast. "What are you doing you idiot! Get up already!"
"Go away" Kumatetsu replied, "why are you here? No one wants to see your ugly face"
"Do you know how pathetic you look?!"
"What did you say"
"It's embarrassing!"
Sakumi and Jiromaru gaped at their conversation. At a time like this, are they really arguing?
"Pathetic indeed" Ichirohiko muttered
Sakumi looked at him angrily, she was about to open her mouth when she heard Kumatetsu roar. She turned her attention back to the match and saw Kumatetsu make a run for his sword. Iouzen blocked his path, but Kumatestu ran around him and jumped for his sword. With his sword in his hands, he and Iouzen started having a (sheathed) sword fight. Sakumi noticed that Kyuta was yelling at him, as if telling him what to do. That's when Sakumi noticed.
Kumatestu was smiling.
Doesn't that mean that he's in a state of concentration? A really good one?

"Come on dad you can do it" Jiromaru muttered, on the edge of his seat. Kumatetsu pushed Iouzen back with their swords in between. "He's gonna lose?"
"Shut up!" Ichirohiko yelled shoving Jiromaru
"Ichirohiko!" Sakumi yelled pullinghim back a bit
"Kyuta" he growled as his scarf tassels unwrapped, "That stupid human is always interfering"
"That's enough Ichirohiko!" Sakumi yelled. Ichirohiko looked at her with wide eyes. That's when she noticed. His eyes were no longer blue. Ichirohiko's eyes were a golden yellow now. "What is wrong with you today" she said, "this is not how you should act when your father is having an important, evenly skilled, match!"
"Evenly skilled? There's no way that's true!" Ichirohiko yelled at her making her eyes widen.
A sudden crack made them both look back at the match and saw that Iouzen's sheath had cracked completely. Kumatetsu let go of his sword and kicked Iouzen's sword away, almost hitting the Master.
"One more punch!" Kyuta yelled
Kumatetsu and Iouzen both went for it. But Kumatetsu ducked down as Iouzen punched and hit him square in the face.

The whole arena was quiet. Iouzen fell to the ground. Jiromaru and Ichirohiko both gaped at teh sight as the announcer started counting down. Sakumi watched carefully, amazed by the last move, but she knew. Iouzen wouldn't get up, he's most likely unconscious right now.

"10! The winner is Kumatetsu!"

The crowd cheered loudly. Mostly likely more than half the arena didn't expect Kumatetsu to win after the first few minutes. Especially Ichirohiko.
Sakumi smiled lightly as Kumatetsu made his way to Kyuta. But it didn't go unnoticed by Ichirohiko, whose anger just bubbled up twice as much.

Sakumi's eyes widened when she heard the sound of something flying through the air in high speed.
All the cheering suddenly died
Sakumi looked up to where Iouzen's sword should be, but it wasn't there and the Master was looking down at the match in worry. Sakumi followed his gaze and saw Iouzens' sword, embedded in Kumatetsu's back.
She gasped and she heard laughter next to her. She looked and saw Ichirohiko laughing like a mad man, with his pointing straight at Kumatetsu.
"Look father! With my telekinesis and your sword we finally made things right! A lazy slob like him could never beat you in a hundred years!" Ichirohiko yelled, "you know it's true, Kyuta. You know!"

Suddenly a hole appeared on Ichirohiko's chest and a black hand appeared around Iouzen's sword.
"No Ichirohiko!" Iouzen called
"Stop it Ichirohiko!" Sakumi yelled grabbing his arm
"This is it" he said, "one more push and he's finished, watch father" he smiled and moved his hand forward.
"No!"
Iouzens' sword went through Kumatetsu and he stumbled down to his knees.
Sakumi's eyes widened as tears made their way to the edges. Ichirohiko let out another laugh.
"It's over, all hail the new master, my father!"
"You damned fool, the match is over and done with!" Iouzen called out
"no" Sakumi whispered then looked over at Kyuta. Suddenly, a hole appeared on his chest too.
"Resist it Kyuta!" the Master called out.
The sword next to Kyuta unsheathed itself and it pointed at Ichirohiko.
"Please no!" Jiromaru yelled as he hugged Ichirohiko's leg
"How dare you!" Kyuta yelled, then he made the sword fly forward, straight towards Ichirohiko
"not you too Kyuta" Iouzen yelled
"NO!" Sakumi yelled hugging on to Ichirohiko's arm and shutting her eyes tight.

A sudden clang made her open them slowly. She saw Kyuta's sword on the ground in front of them. She turned to look at Ichirohiko. His eyes were white and darkness was growing around him. Sakumi gasped as she let go of him.
"Kyuta, I will never forgive you" she heard Ichirohiko's voice as he was completely engulfed in the darkness.

And disappeared.
