No Matter The Connection, The Fallen Still Hurt

My eyes shot open and the noise was coming from the door. I felt very comfortable in Eric's arms, I didn't want to move, but then the disheveling noise came again. I grunted and opened the door. My angry Athena barreled past me, leaping on the bed. She was about thirty pounds bigger than last time I saw her. The horse was about half-a-pony grown, and could barely fit through the mahogany doors. The horse ferociously slammed the door shut, I guess I deserved that.
I started heading to the library, which was on the other side of the Haven by my room, when I noticed a girl staring at my unprotected chest as she walked by. A few more people did that, and I realized the Haven was busier than usual. I made the dagger appear in my pocket, because I feel safer with it, then opened the door to the library. There was this feeling I could sense, fear. I looked to the middle of the room, and chief Chamo looked terrified

"Chief?"

"Dev--" but before she could finish, a big talon surfaced from her chest, she toppled to the ground.

"CHIEF"
Behind her stood a velociraptor-fingered, pterodactyl winged, much more sinister than an Animas, monster. It leaped on me, and put a talon to my stomach. The creature started pushing, and I could feel the skin erupting.

"Where is he?" This horrible voice seethed.

"Who are you talking about?" I spat. He pushed his claw deeper and I almost screamed out.

"They said you'd be hard to kill, but you're just a weak, puny, nobody."
My anger lashed out and threw him off of me, then using that moment, I jumped onto his back and plunged my knife deep into his neck, green thick fluid dripped out of his head, and he toppled to the floor, along with me.

"He is not who you think he is" the creature whispered in its dying breath, it's claw pointing to Perseus.
As the creature fell, I noticed a book ajar on a velvety chair nearby the hideous beast. It was out of place and so I went over and peered at it. On closer inspection, the pages were all ripped apart save for one section that read:

"400 years ago the king and queen of vampires had a child, his name was Eric."

"Eric!" I yelled, holding the book in front of him.

"That could be anyone." He said with a mild amount of controlled distress lingering in his voice.

"Bull shit! Your room is the biggest room in the vampires section, you own invaluable items! And you're a VAMPIRE NAMED ERIC!" I shouted with hurt.

"Just let me expl-"

"You literally just lied to me!"

"What happened at the library?" Eric said in a strangely calm mood.

"I read this!"

"Now you're lying to me! If you haven't noticed, you are shirtless and bleeding from your stomach! 'Library' my ass! Where did you really go?!"

"The library! A creature attacked me and killed Chief Chamo."

Athena interrupted with her agutatingly pacing back and forth,

Eric looked greatly saddened by the news.

"Sorry to interrupt your flirt session boys, but the second in command wants to see you both." The same girl from last night announced after bursting through the door.

"We'll finish this later," I hissed.
I steadfastly did a spell to make clothes appear. It was another typical warlock outfit, however this time everything was blue with silver whorls. The wonderous cape swirled around my feet as I exited.
J spotted me first with a normal look, then he burst out laughing. He ran over with a devilish grin on his face and pulled me aside.

"YOU HAVE A HICKEY HAHAHHAH!" J almost screamed.

"Shhh, what!"

"You have a bloody Hickey bro! Ummmm-um you been getting down and dirty!"

"No you!"

That ass hole he didn't tell me!

I thought, trying to be angry at him. Athena came out of nowhere and everyone gasped in astonishment.

"Where'd you get the wolf?" J asked.

"Eric" I grumbled. J stifled a laugh after noticing Chamo's second-in-command, Rob, called us over.

"Today, chief Chamo was murdered and a Heidler was found dead next to her. We don't know what stopped the creature but a summoning note was left at the main hall entrance. I want to send a team of all the leaders to go since you're the most powerful ones here. J, you're going aswell. Eva could use you."

I heard innane twinkling when next to me were two, two inch fairy's. The king and queen of their kind.... wait wait wait! The queen was the one who kissed Eric! She was a fairy, a sly horrible pest, but to be a queen and cheat! If anyone found out she would be in trouble. All she did was peer at me while giving the most indescribably disgusting grin.

"Devin!" J shouted, I hadn't realized they were trying to get my attention.

"Can you please use a spell to make it so Eric doesn't die outside?"
I angrily moved my hands around, and did the spell, with a small shock because I was still angry at him. He didn't flinch, but the hurt in his eyes made guilt gargle in my throat.

"Where are we going?" I questioned.

"Rainbow park" Rob replied sullenly.

"Now go, hurry, it's almost time."
I nodded, and ushered the others outside.

"Stay Athena, you're not fully grown yet."

"No"

"I'm not letting you go, so please just do this for me." She grumbled, but obliged.

The king fairy grew to normal human size and opted to drive.
Perseus's eyes opened looked directly at me.

"Just talk to him Devin, you're both hurting, he might've lied to you but when he was younger his parents died, Chief Chamo took him in, a century ago, she was like his mom, now she's dead"
I petted the snakes head, then we all got in the car, and smoothly rolled down the road. Most everyone broke into the champagne and were joking and laughing, except Eric and I.
The car arrived at the eerily empty park. There were two robed figures in the dead center of the grass. Eric was out before anyone, he leaped almost fifty feet over to them and ripped out their throats with one slash of his pointed nails.

"HEY! What was that!" J shouted.

"Long story but these guys tried to kill Devin the other day." Someone came up behind Eric

"Our masters been wanting you Eric, come with me by choice or be forced"

"Hes not going with you" I stepped closer to him brazenly.

"Yes he is, you do what master says." The man/creatures voice turned demonic. A group came out from behind him and pounced on us, I managed to dodge a raven/human that was aimed to my eyes. There was clangs of swords and the sound of cutting skin, but I focused on running to Eric, I felt that man would do something horrible if I didn't get to him soon. Eric turned on the man and scraped his face, brown blood dripped from it, but the man took the opportunity to stab Eric with a stake.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I screamed, diving for the man who turned into a bird, I hit him with a Seov that only burned some feathers, but otherwise he flew away.
Eric was gargling blood, about to die. I sprang to his side and wrapped my body around him. Sunshiny yellow light burst out of me, killing the rest of the attackers and stunning my friends. The skin on my forearms were coming off in chunks, blood spurting everywhere, but it was healing Eric, I could feel my mind slipping away into a tumultuous darkness, but I kept using the magic to heal Eric until finally his eyes opened bright once more. I smiled accepting my fate, letting darkness envelope my vision and swallow all the emotions I was feeling. The last thing I saw was a vision of me and Eric, next to each other in a bed, happy.
