Gone

I was soo pissed at J. I could heal him, I could make him better but he refused. I could not stay for much longer after Eric left, I was just too furious. I wanted to find Eric and talk about what just happened. I sauntered down the vile hall of blood suckers, and I spotted the two vampires I had stopped in the alley way, not so long ago. One was leaning against a mahogany door, and the other was slumped against the door frame.

"Well well well, look who we have here." One of them told the other.

"Looks like the freak that interrupted our wonderous feast."

"Wheres the Seov, tough guy?" One of them jabbed, pointing at me with their needlelike nail.

"Oh whatever," I grumbled. I rolled my eyes as hard as I could and walked away from them towards Eric. I would be lying if I said I was not nervous. I mean I never stopped having feelings for him but now that I could act on them I was hesitant to mess it up again. Each step I took closer I felt as if someone was adding more and more weight to my legs until I was eventually at a standstill... right in front of his door.

I breathed in deeply to calm the panic that was caressing my insides. It was everywhere and so so so distracting. It took me close to a minute to realise that his fancy gold-plated oak door was slightly ajar. I hastily slammed the door open and threw a ball of light in there, but he was no where to be seen. Eric wasn't in the ensuite Victorian style bathroom or under his bed (which was a long shot in the first place), or anywhere else in his abode. I consequently began to panic. I could feel my heart beating uncontrollably and the biggest lump of unease sat weighted in my stomach.

I couldn't remember how to breathe. In out out? Out in in? Luckily Athena came bounding down the hall to set me straight.

"Snap out of it man! This isnt helping anything, duh! If he is not in his room, he could still be in the Haven. Think logically Devin. Use your powers for goodness sakes." She commanded. I breathed out and let the magical words flow from my mouth.

I had eyes everywhere, scouring the Haven in a flurry of translucent smoke. I checked the hall, the werewolves area, my room, etc. He was no where to be seen. I started to hyperventilate.
Athena howled deafiningly loud, so much that it shook the windows. People came running fast because they thought something was wrong, which it was. Even the horrid vampires looked concerned.

The new chief raised a brow as he stood in front of me.

"Eric is gone," I yelled, "I have scoured the Haven and he is no where to be found."

There was a collective gasp as people stood wide eyed with the news of the prince's disappearance. The vampires were very interested now as all of them gathered around to hear more. The news was most devastating to the unnaturally colored horse that bolted as soon as she heard the news.

"There was also somebody else in there with him, not very long ago, well not really somebody... it was something dead." Athena informed me.

"There was another thing in his room with him, he has not been gone long. This is all I know."

The new chief piped up: "Although we are short handed, we need everybody on board to help. A prince has gone missing, and we need to find him before he's gone forever."

"What do you want us to do?" A vampire questioned.

"Vampires, I want you to use your contacts to see if there's any street chatter. Wolves, I want you to trace his scent, and chief?"

"I have to stay here." He explained. "I cannot leave the Haven unattended especially with these creature attacks happening all over the city!"

"Do what you must. Now why are you all just standing here?! Go go go!!!" I exclaimed. They all were off in a hurry like bees to a flower full of nectar.

I knew he was still alive. I could feel it in every thread of my powerful body. I could not stop looking for him. I would leave no stone unturned, no source of information un-threatened, and I could not sleep until he was safe in my arms where he belonged. I would hurt whoever took him, and oh boy would they pay.
