Altean! Lance x reader

*flash back*

"Y/n I need you to accompany Lance to scout this planet. It's called Ateseme, and according to Allura, the planet survived 10,000 years ago when Zarkon attacked the solar system. The planet is pure ice, and since you two are most familiar ice, you two will go on a dual mission. Are you up for it?"

Your e/c colored eyes widen as you nod, "sure thing!"

The blue paladin saunters next to you and elbows you playfully, but gently. You smile at him and he grins. "It'd be fun to go on a mission with y/n, here." you chuckle lightly.

Shiro nods and folds his arms. "Stay in contact and update me when you can. If anything and I mean anything, you are to report to me."

You nod, and Lance casually wrapped his arm around your shoulder. You feel a light heat rush to your cheeks. "Course, Shiro. Don't worry. Y/n and I make a great team, don't we?" you nod in agreement.

Shiro nods. "Good luck you two. Be careful."

*end of flashback*

Your breath freezes in the cold air and you tremble with the chill. "I knew it was going to be cold, but not this cold." you mutter, rubbing your arms, trying to gain some sort of warmth.

Footsteps crunch in the snow and you feel something soft and warm wrap around you. You start and look down to see a thick blanket enveloped around you. You look at the blue paladin who's sitting in the snow next to you. "Thanks." you tug the blanket tighter around you. Lance nods.

You both are quiet for a second before you say, "Lance?"

He hums in response.

You can feel tears begin to fall. "Do... Do you miss home?" you look down, biting your lip.

Lance sets a light hand on your shoulder and you see another part of the blue paladin. He's sad and hurt. You've never seen such pain in a person's eyes. "Yeah. I do miss home," he says after a moment.

You hug him tightly. "I didn't mean to upset you." he chuckles quietly. "No, it's okay." he hugs you back. There's a glint of light and you stand up.

"Y/n? Are you okay?"

"Look!" you point to something glittering in the alien light. You slide down the dune of snow and scramble forward. Finally, you make it and you gasp at the beauty of the sight. "Whoa." you kneel down and inspect the flowers. They look as if they're made of glass. "Aren't they pretty?" you ask, excitedly. You stand and turn to Lance.

He's holding one of the flowers towards you. His eyes are nervous and shy, something you're not used to. You smile and he tucks the flower behind your ear. "That suits you." he compliments. You blush. "Thanks."

You hear a loud roar and you see something hurtling towards you from the corner of your eyes. Lance sees it too and quickly pushes you out of the way.

There's a loud boom and you scream as snow blasts in your face. Shards of ice cut at your face and you throw your hands up to protect yourself.

Finally, the snow settles and you open your eyes to see a large pile of snow. "Lance!" you scream. "Lance!" you struggle towards the pile and you begin to dig frantically. Your fingers are freezing and a cut across your cheek is staining the pure snow red. But, despite that, you continue to dig, screaming the paladins' name. Finally, you find him. You grab his upper body and drag him out from under the snow. You pull his helmet off and gasp.

His ears... They're pointed... And his hair! It's still the same length and curled slightly, but... It's a pure white.

You shake your head. "Focus." you put your head to his chest and listen for breathing, along with a heart beat. You can hear a quiet beat and light breathing. Relief washes over you and you clutch him closely, crying softly. He's okay. He's okay.

You hear another loud noise, but it's the familiar noise of Blue, You look up and see the blue lion landing nearby. You lift Lance up and begin to haul him to the blue lion. Once you make it you set him gently on a bed in the back. "Hang in there." you wipe a stray piece of hair from his face and smile softly.

You walk to the controls of Blue. Nervously, you sit down. "Erm... Blue? Is it okay if I can pilot you?" Silence. "Please... Lance is hurt and I need to get him home..."

There's a quiet purr and Blue's controls light up. You gasp lightly and set your hands on the controls. "Thank you," you whisper.

You land and hurry out. "SHIRO!" You scream at the top of your lungs. You see him coming at top speed. You hurry back into Blue and grab the blue paladin.

"What happened?" He asks, helping you carry Lance out and to the healing pods. You shake your head. "Later." you help Shiro put him in the healing pods as the rest of the paladins come in.

While the team has a small discussion, you continue to stand by the healing pod, pacing and biting your cuticles.

It takes about an hour before the pod opens. He stumbles out, but before he can say 'quiznack' you're hugging him tightly and crying. He comes out of his confused state and hugs you back. "what's wrong, beautiful?" He asks concerned. You look up, only to see that the ears, and hair are the same. You touch his ears delicately and he starts in surprise. He reaches up and touches his new pointed ears. "HOLY QUIZNACK!" He screams loudly.

You bite your lip. "it should have been me... the effect... it's permanent..." he hugs you tightly. "all that matters to me is that you're okay." you slowly wrap your arms around his torso, he comforts you with sweet nothings until you've stopped crying.

"I love you," he whispers quietly. Your eyes shoot open, then soften. "love you too... even with the pointed ears... you're still the blue paladin that I fell in love with."

GAH! HAHAHAHA! BEAT THAT YOU STUPID COMPUTER! TAKE THAT! Sorry, my computer wouldn't save my progress. I literally had to write this four times. I am so happy with the comments for x reader ideas. I really love writing these. I am currently working on the giant cinnamon roll, Hunk and I will see you all next week. Love you, my paladins!
