It's been two weeks since George and I both admitted we liked each other and shared that very heated make-out session and ever since then, things have been a bit weird between us. Now, George has been distant from me, worrying me. I mean, he still talks to me, but now he doesn't want to hang out as much or doesn't want to repeat what happened up at the tree house. I mean, I thought he enjoyed it, did he not? George says he did and even Daisy said of course he enjoyed it, but by the way he's acting I'm thinking that he didn't.

The bell rung, ending the last class of the day and I walked out to go find George as usual. On my way to the wing of the school where the lockers room are located, I bumped into Tyler.

"Hi, Kaylie." Tyler smiled breathlessly. "How are you?"

"I'm good." I replied simply. "Has your nose healed?" I smirked, referring to when Hayden beat his ass for cheating on me.

"Uh, it's healed, yeah." He replied awkwardly. "Kaylie, I've been meaning to talk to you." Tyler said but I was distracted when I saw George walking this way.

"Yeah tell me later." I waved off, not paying attention to what he had just said and ran off to George. "GEORGE!" I exclaimed.

I caught him off guard as he looked up and saw me with a smile. "Kaylie." He smiled and opened his arms.

I went to him and gave him a hug. "How was classes?"

"They were okay." He laughed. "How about you?"

"Stressful." I laughed. "Anyway," I began quickly changing the subject, "I was thinking maybe we could get together later and work on some homework?" I asked and George's smile went to a frown.

"I—can't, I'm busy. Family matters." George dismissed.

"You've been busy a lot lately." I sighed and pain flashed across my face and I knew George saw it.

"Kaylie," He began but I cut him out.

"George, please, just tell me it's not me. Please tell me I didn't do anything wrong." I sniffled.

"What of course not." George quickly said and grabbed my face in his hands. "It's never your fault, okay, please remember that."

"Then why are you avoiding me? Why won't you hang out with me?"

"Kaylie, it's a difficult reasoning." George said. "I can't explain right now."

"What's so difficult about it?" I asked.

"Don't you have cheerleading practice?" He asked changing the subject.

I looked at the clock on the wall and realized I was late for practice. "Yeah, I do." I sighed. "Thanks." I said bitterly and turned around to walk to the girls' locker room.

"Kaylie," George called after me but I ignored and went on to practice.

Just as I was about to walk in the locker room, I rounded the corner and again bumped into Tyler once again.

"Are you stalking me or something?" I snapped out.

"Maybe." Tyler joked.

"That's creepy."

"So, um, what were you and George talking about? Seemed a bit extreme. Are you two dating now?" Tyler asked.

I gave him a disgusted look. "Do I need to get Hayden to beat you up again?" I walked off after that to get changed for practice. I was already 15 minutes late, I didn't need to be even more late. Coach really was going to make me run.
