Bonus Chapter #1

Daniel's P.o.V

I was in Moonlight Park looking at the way the pond rippled everytime I threw a leaping rock. I'm going through that phase where a girlfriend breaks up with you and you post all these "Stay strong" and "I'm independent" pictures on Facebook and Instagram, knowing that you miss your girlfriend and acting wise and philosophical. I've been posting Tupac quotes, too.

I checked my phone for any missed calls from Lanie. I called her, but her voicemail came on. "Lanie, look I'm not gay. Just because I was in the moment when I was watching RuPaul's Drag Race doean't mean I am gay. In fact, more straight people watch that show than gay people or transgenders do. But, that's not the point. I just want to let you know that I love you so much and I miss you. Bye."

I put my phone away and continued to look at the pond. My second girlfriend of the junior year. I wish Kelly was back.

The only reason why Kelly and I broke up was because she moved back to Barbados. She was Barbadian and Dominican and she was beautiful. She had brown and untameable curly hair.

She helped me out so much while I had cancer. She came to hospital everyday and layed down with me in my bed even though our moms would watch us to make sure we didn't escalate from laying down. But, then why would she try to have sex with a guy who had wires attached to him and blood being removed from his body? That's dumb. Anyway, she was perfect. But, her family had a crisis. Her grandmother was disabled and lived in a dangerous place, so Kelly and her parents had to move back to Barbados to protect her.

Then, I met Lanie. She always felt insecure about herself because she used to be bullied, so she dyed her ginger hair to blonde and wore blue eye contacts to cover her green eyes. She was a little hostile to some people because of her past, but I tamed her. We would do everything together. We inseparable. But, one day, Dani and I were watching RuPaul's Drag Race and I was angry because they sent Milk home and I loved Milk. So, I was yelling at the TV for sending "my boo" home. I mean she was working it on that show, like why would Ru send her home? Anyways, Dani told me impersonate Milk, so I did. And I can't lie, I sounded gay, but I was pretty good at it. But, the whole time, Lanie was watching me. She assumed I was gay and ended the relatiomship. Then, Dani yelled out the window, "Homophobic bitch!"

Going through that memory made me just want to call her again. So, I grabbed my phone, dialed her number, and waited for her to answer.

"Hello?" a man said from the other line said.

"Hello?"

"Who is this?" I heard shuffling, then heard Lanie's voice.

"Don't pick up my damn phone, Riley! I told you I don't want you to answer when Daniel calls. He's gonna know I'm with you," she said trying to make distance with the phone.

"Lanie," I said.

"Oh, hey Daniel. Um, this is awkward."

"First off, fuck you. Second, you cheated on me. Third, Riley has HIV. Enjoy your fucking night, bitch," I yelled, hanging up the phone.

I never knew I could curse like that and not sound stupid. I decided it was time for me to go home so I got in my Toyota and drove home.

Once I reached my house, I walked in and everyone was sitting on the couch watching TV.

"What happened?" Dani asked.

"Oh, nothing. Nothing at all," I sighed, walking to the bathroom.

Three Things I Need To Say

1. I am not against LGBT people at all. I love everyone and I only used gay as an example. Don't hold anything against me because I used it as an example.  I love gay people. In fact, I want gay friends. So, don't get crazy.

2. I have nothing against people who have HIV. It's a virus that people do not want, so I used Lanie and Daniel as an example. If you have HIV, I still respect you as a person and I don't have anything against you. So, again, don't get crazy.

3. Bonus Chapters are very short because they're bonuses and I don't want to put so much effort into them that they become longer and more than the actual chapters. So, they'll be about 1/3 or 1/2 of a regular chapter. Also, bonus chapters come after every third chapter. So, there will be a BC (bonus chapter) after Chapter 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and etc. So, lastly, don't get crazy.
