Chapter six
Dead man walking
As I walk outside, a large black bird flew off the house silently. The sun nearly down. The sky glowed with warm colors, pink, red, yellow, violet, blue and orange. The city was quiet. A few people walk the streets now. Doing the last thing on there list till they call it a day. Not a sign of Lucifer. Either he's lurking around or on his way. Either way he needs to be equipped for a fight. He slowly walks off the porch of the small house and onto the dirt road. Trying to make as little noise as possible he takes long silent strides towards the black smiths place. His weapons should be done unless he spent the gold at the brothel or at the bar again. Hoping that wasn't true he continued his way down the road.
The candles were still lite inside. The door was slightly open. Teck knocked on the door twice and waited for an answer. He waited a few minutes for him to come down the road of get out of his bed. He knocked again. No answer. "Where is he now." He thought. "This man.." He decided to walk in and get his weapons himself then slowly opened the door to peek in. The candles blew out leaving the place almost completely dark. He walked in and towards the table. He's eyes strained to see. His sword wasn't there. He looked around slowly to see where he put it. "It must be in the bedroom." He thought as he walked carefully through the house avoiding the anvil and hammer. He opened the door to his bedroom and saw a table with a magnifying glass along with some sort of polish and what do you know, resting right on his bed was his sword and dagger.
A yellow glow came from behind followed by the slam of the door. "Well it's nice seeing you again." Teck slowly turned around. The voice didn't match the voice of the black smith. A hooded sex foot five man stood in front of the window. Confusion overcame Teck. "How could this man sneak up on me? Who is he?" Many questions filled his mind.
His battle torn voice was low toned and fierce. Like a dragons roar he spoke "Teck, don't you know me?" A large two handed blade hung from his back. A blade like that must have weighed over sixty pounds.
Thinking back to his childhood he finally recognized the voice. "Lucifer." He whispered in anger. "Where's the rest?"
He lifted his large arms and lowered his hood. The face of a mad man. A massive scar was the first thing Teck noticed. His eyes were blue and full of youth just like his.
"So you do know me. You've grown." Lucifer said smiling. "I came alone."
"I don't want to play your games old man." Teck raised his voice in anger as his blood began to boil. He felt the power grow inside him. It burned Inside his chest like fire.
"Let the beast out son, he doesn't like being caged." He untied the sheath from his chest and the blade thumped on the ground and fell to it's side with another large bang. He took off his cloak revealing his scarred torso. He was a monster and Teck wasn't about to let him leave. His pants were grey and his boots were large. This was the biggest man he's seen, even larger then the black smith.
Ready for a fight; Teck goes into an attack stance. Lucifer laughs and says "I'm not here to fight boy. Just to talk."
"Lies." Teck responds feeling the fire inside him trying to escape.
"You hold a gift." He said calmly pointing at his arm. "I know more about you then you could imagine. I know what your feeling right now. It's ready to be unleashed and shown to the world. You could be king." Lucifer walked over to the anvil and sat down.
Teck stood lowering his fists to listen and leaned his shoulder against the door frame.
"Your father was a madman, we did what we had to. It was because of him the wars started. It was because of your mother we had no success in finding you. It was when you returned to the city we had eyes on you. Your skill is phenomenal."
"You slaughtered her!" Teck yelled.
"We had no choice. We thought she killed you. The only heir to your fathers place in the counsel."
"So you left me to suffer all these years!"
"It was a test. You passed."
"Passed?" Teck asked
"Yes you passed the first test. You ready for your second?"
Teck couldn't take this anymore the lies he's telling makes him sick. "Yeah." He says calmly as he walks into the room taking his scimitar by the handle. As he walks out of the room he yells "I was born ready!" And ran towards the man and drop kicked him off the anvil. Lucifer fell to the floor with a thud. He quickly picked up his two handed blade and stood up looking at Teck "I said I didn't want to fight."
"Shut up!" Teck yelled slashing at him with his sword. The clanging of swords were heard throughout the city. The man just stood and blocked every slash and jab. Even though lucifer was a massive guy he was fast. Lucifer took a swing at Tecks sword and knocked it down as he did he took his left hand off his two handed blade and punched Teck in the chest sending him back a few feet meters. Teck landed on his back still holding onto his sword and gasping for air.
"This isn't your best!" Lucifer howled as he walked over to Teck. "Your holding back! And I feel offended!" He stabbed his massive blade into the wooden floor a few centimetres from his neck. He grabbed Teck by his leather vest and picked him up. He let's go of his scimitar and it falls heavily to the ground. "This is disappointing." He said while tossing him against the wall.
Teck looked into his eyes and rolled out of the way just as lucifer went for the final punch. He pulled his arm from the wall Leaving a giant hole. Teck jumped up and elbowed him on the side of the head with his left elbow and followed that with a right hook and a quick high knee to the jaw. After that lucifer was left dazed. Teck took one step back and roundhouse kicked him in the head; slamming his head into the wooden wall creating a hole to the bedroom.
As he fell to the ground blood gushed from a gash on his head. Blood ran from his mouth and onto the floor. He looked behind him and walked over to the massive blade and placed both hands on the handle; ripping it from it's resting place. He let the blade drag across the floor as he approached the bloody and unconscious man.
"Now you die, you bastard." Teck whispered finally getting what he always wanted.
He fads back into reality starring at the ground; lucifer spits blood on the ground "that's more like it." He looks up just in time to see death quickly approach him.
As Teck swings the massive blade over his shoulders lucifer lifts his arm to stop the blade but had no chance against the rage and hate that was bottled up inside Teck. The massive two handed blade slices right through his wrist and continues down to split his head in two along with a quarter of his torso exposing his brain, tongue, throat, spine, and muscle. Blood splattered all over the walls. Teck was drenched from head to chest with the blood of his victim.
"One out of four." He said to himself with a sinister grin on his face. It felt satisfying. The fire within Teck went away as he stood staring at lucifers lifeless body. His brains halfway out of his head, his tongue and throat still pumped with blood that squirted with the beat of his dying heart. His spine was sticking out of his back and the flesh and muscles were ripped apart. He sat there like a meat sack sliced in half by his own weapon that killed many of innocent people.
"That was easier then I thought." He said out loud with a smile.
"You passed the second test." A voice took him by surprise. He looked behind him right when a giant mace bashed him upside the head. He fell to the floor almost lifeless. Blood mixed with Sylvia spilled from Tecks mouth. He twitches as he lays on the cold hard ground, eyes still open starring up at a blurry slim figure. He crouched down to Teck and picked him up over his shoulders. As Teck faded out of consciousness he heard the voice of the drunken blacksmith. "What have you done!"
