Chapter 4: Reflections & Forgiving- I slowly walked into the mansion. Where was everyone? What's going on? I hear voices and hide behind a post. There's hissing and scraping. I'm too afraid to call out hello so I slowly walk to Drakes room. Then I remember vampires have strong hearing and curse myself. I'm up against Drakes door with my hand on the door knob. The door collapses in and a hand covers my mouth. I try not to scream. It's only Drake. He quickly closes his door pulling me inside with him. I look down at my feet awkwardly,

"Drake, I'm sorry. I should have listened."

He shushed me,

"Shhh we are under attack by another group of vampires. They smell your human blood. Since your still transforming you're half human."

I stayed quiet listening for footsteps. His ears twitched as he whispered,

"Follow me. They're on their way."

Drake grabbed my hand and pulled me into the restroom. There was a rectangular mirror and a circular sink then another door that led to the shower and toilet. I glanced in the mirror to see only my reflection. Drake wasn't there. My heart skipped a beat and I worriedly swung around looking for him. I heard his soft laugh. I let out a deep breath relieved to see him still standing beside me.Drake shut the door behind us,

"You can see yourself because your still half human. " he met my eyes "Your so beautiful."

He stared at my reflection. I blushed and cursed to myself. I hated when I blushed. Drake hesitated then grabbed me by the waist. He was so close. I knew he was going to kiss me. I prepared myself. Then he moved me aside. I let out a little oh. I was standing in front of the door. He wasn't going to kiss me. I was just a thing in his way. Drake opened the door to the other half of the bathroom and we entered the room together. There was a faded window above the toilet. This must be how we escape. I heard his bedroom door slam open. They found us. Drake ran his hand through the window. I shielded my eyes as glass flew everywhere. I stood on the toilets lid and slipped my slim body through the wall. Drake followed. I avoided looking at his hand. It was probably all bloody from smashing the glass. Drake said,

"By the way it already healed. Good as new."

He held his hand up. I gasped,

"But but..."

Drake laughed and shrugged,

"Vampire perk."

I wrapped my hands around his hand feeling the skin that should be bleeding crazy. It wasn't a illusion his hand wasn't harmed at all. I followed him deeper into the woods not letting go of his hand. Drake didn't seem to mind. Actually he looked amused. He whispered,

"Why would you tell me sorry if you had left again?"

I stared at my feet,

"Because I wish I hadn't left."

Drake asked,

"What happened."

I tried not to think too much about it,

"Rylie."

He stopped walking and let go of my hand,

"What happened, Collin? What did you tell her?"

Drake was suddenly angry. I could feel the hatred of Rylie in the air.

"Nothing. She was with someone."

He entwined our fingers again,

"Oh."

I nodded,
