Chapter Six - Confess To Me

"And just where are you taking me?" I asked Griffin as he carried me through the woods.

"Since you believe that if we talk in my home we'll have sex, I've taken it upon myself to take you out of this shit town so you can see exactly what I'm talking about," Griffin said.

We arrived in front of this beautiful sleek Audi R8 Spyder. I gaped in awe. The only people I knew with expensive cars were the Alpha and Jamie's family. Griffin walked over to the passengers side and opened the door nodding for me to go inside. I raised my brow.

"Since when are you a gentleman?"

"I've always been a gentleman. You don't know me very well," he chuckled. I walked over and climbed in. I wasn't nearly as graceful as Griffin was. I frowned and looked out the window and got comfortable in his seats.

"I don't."

"Well, I can tell you this, I'm a wonderful man," He winked over at me before roaring the car to life and pulling off.

So he really is a businessman.

"How are you a businessman and an Alpha of a pack?" I asked once we were on the road.

"Easily. I own a lot of companies. I own a lot of people. Being in business for a good fifty years is tiresome-and it raises suspicion if you don't age. So, I temporarily left people I trusted in charge and they've kept everything running smoothly. I became an Alpha spontaneously."

"How?"

"I was passing through. I was stopped by an Alpha who was a lower generation than me, he challenged me and I won. I didn't want to be an Alpha, but I needed something to do." he shrugged.

"Then why are you so worried about your pack?" I asked.

"Because what's happened to my pack isn't normal. It could happen to any pack-and I think that it's spreading. The only ones unaffected by it are the first generations, but there's not many of us left."

Oh. I guess that would make sense. He wants to get to the bottom of it to prevent our race from doing something that could possibly lead to our extinction. He drove to a town I hadn't heard of, but it was a lot bigger than mine. Griffin parked his car.

"Now, Sam, I need you to act well and very well. Pretend like you're a photographer and that I'm your boyfriend-" I narrowed my eyes at him, he just rolled his own.

"Ironic."

"Just go with it. Pretend." he slipped on a pair of sunglasses and got out of his car then came to help me out.

He casually slipped his arm around my waist and placed it gently on my hips. I looked up at him but I couldn't detect anything because his face was covered by his glasses. I didn't really know what our objective was. I just knew we were out and about and acting. Griffin looked down at me as I looked around in amazement. I hadn't been anywhere outside of my own town.

"I really need to take you to a city," he muttered as I raised my camera to my eye and began to take shots.

"I need to just leave," I sighed and looked around.

"Leave everything behind?" he asked.

"Not everything. But pretty much, yeah."

He made a scoffing noise and pulled me around the corner.

"There," he said low enough for only me to hear. I looked through the camera lens to see what he was referring to. "They're completely oblivious to everything, and then as soon as one encounters another-they're attacking each other, ripping one another apart with their teeth. It's not the Lycan way."
