"Peter! You're going to be late for school!" Aunt May called for the fifth time.
I yawned, "Yeah, I'm coming. How can a hero even try to get sleep?" I added the last part to myself. Hey, being a swingin' crime fighting spider, you seriously need your beauty sleep.
I hopped down from my bed and went to the mirror. Oh crap, I thought grumpily. My red and blue suit was torn from last night's fight with Juggernut. Man, I hated that guy.
Shaking off my suit, I threw it in my 'needs-to-be-fixed' pile, then I made sure Aunt May couldn't find it before I went downstairs.
"My, I thought you weren't well last night," Aunt May said, as she saw me hop down the stairs.
I shrugged, "Uh, I got better?"
She didn't notice my questioning sort of answer, "Just hurry up and get to school!"
I picked up my bag by the door and waved goodbye, "I'll see you tonight, and I won't forget the eggs this time!"
The day was bright and sunny when I stepped out into the crowded sidewalk. Lots of people barley noticed as I jumped over things that people shouldn't be able to jump over; mailboxes, ditches in the road, cars.
I turned a corner and looked at my school. Modern, civilized kids. Wait, no, okay. Scratch that last part. Most of the kids ran around, yelling at each other.
The cars were parked over by- hey, wait. What's with the fancy Ferrari? Usually all we had here were beat-up-hand-me downs.
I ignored the car and walked through the school doors, right as the bell rang. I jumped, Seriously, how can I be late for school already?!
I ran past the lockers, the teachers' offices, the gym then- WHAM. Ran smack into the principal.
"Uh, er, hey-hi," I stumbled over my words.
The principal payed no attention to my stuttering, "Ah, Mr. Parker, someone is here to see you."
Before I could protest, Principal Lee was directing me into his office. Who would want to see me? Other than maybe the Goblin, or Doctor Otto Octaviuous. Maybe they wanted to come and give me a final F- or something.
Principal Lee led me into his office- oh god. Sitting on a chair, his hands folded formally over his lap, sat Loki. Now when I say Loki, I mean god of tricks and green clothes. He didn't look like a god, obviously, he would be crazy to come in with armor and a glowing staff. Instead, he wore a green button-down shirt, black pants and a completely normal baseball cap.
I stood there, shocked and utterly speechless. Principal Lee didn't notice and muttered, "I'll be in the gym, Mrs. Gillian has had an accident with the paint and glow sticks- " he walked out of the room.
"Peter Parker," Loki grinned, "It is good to see you, again." He emphasized the 'again', like he knew a secret. . .
I unfroze, "What are you doing here?" I felt my spider-sense tingle, like he could pounce at any moment.
He chuckled and got up, "Is it not obvious?" His hand glowed a dark green, "We have unfinished business, Spider."
He knows, I thought, my stomach flipping inside out, "I don't know what you're talking about."
His hand flicked upwards, and I heard the lock of the door click shut, "Do not hide it from me, boy. I know who you are." He walked behind the desk and snapped his fingers.
I was wondering why he did that, until I looked down. My suit, fully free of any tears and dirt, replaced my normal clothes.
I got ready to jump, "How do you know? And why the heck are you here?"
Loki sat in the Principal's chair and rested his feet on the oak desk, "I am going to send you somewhere you cannot interfere with my plans, Spider-Man."
The air around us suddenly crackled with energy. Beside the window, a green hole opened out of nowhere. I looked from the hole too Loki, "Oh, no. Oh, no no no, I am not going through there."
Loki got up, his form shimmering from human form, to god form, "You do not have a choice, Peter Parker."
His staff appeared in his left hand and he shot a bolt of lightning straight at my chest. Thankfully, my senses saved me, and I jumped up onto the ceiling just in time.
I swung down on a web and sprayed his staff to the wall. It pulsed bright green as Loki's anger clearly showed on his face.
"Man, you seriously are green all the way, aren't you?" I said, tilting my head.
Loki jerked his arm against the webbing, spraying bits of wall all over the floor, "Your jokes will not save you this time."
He aimed his staff and threw another bolt of energy. I barley had enough time to dodge it, as the bolt whizzed past my head and crashed through the wall.
I was about to say, 'Yah missed', when something struck my side, flinging me by the swirling hole.
"Goodbye, Spider-Man," Loki laughed, "I will see you sooner than you think." With that, the hole grew wider, and I toppled right through it, into an abyss of swirling green.
My last thought was, Loki and his green things. Before everything went black.
