By the time we had everything cleaned up, it was dusk. Cisco was still not awake, Caitlin was still rattled about the arrival of the two villains. Barry, I didn't really know what the guy's problem was. He was always guarded, always having a sad look on his face.
I tried to ignore it, but he seemed like he had lost someone. I didn't have the nerve to ask, so I didn't.
"Hey, Caitlin," I turned, my eyes still on the computer screen, "What am I looking for again?"
She sighed and set down her notepad, "You're looking for Savitar's Speedforce. So all you're looking for is a blue dot."
"Oh, right." I said, kicking myself secretly. Come on, I could have at least gotten that! What is with me?! Maybe because I'm apart of an awesome team that has an amazingly hot girl?
"Peter? Are you even listening to me?" Caitlin asked, impatiently.
     "Yeah, sorry." I grinned.
"Okay, you know what, I got this," Caitlin said, "You go see what other stuff there is to do."
I shrugged and got up while Caitlin sat at her desk.
Barry was sitting beside Cisco's cot, his head in his hands. I finally got up the nerve to ask him what was up.
I rubbed my head and sat beside him, "Hi."
Barry didn't look up, "Hey."
I watched Cisco breath and shook my head, "Uh, I wanted to know what was wrong?"
Barry looked up, "What do you mean?"
I crossed my arms nervously, "I just noticed that you're super guarded and, you know, sort of down in the dumps."
The room was quiet except for Cisco's heart beeping on the machine. Caitlin peeked over the top of her screen and gave me a slight thumbs up.
Barry let out a sigh, "I've just been through a lot. My mother was murdered a long time ago, and my father was wrongly imprisoned for it."
I suddenly felt very uncomfortable, "I'm sorry."
"That's not even the worst," he grumbled, "My dad was let out when we caught the real killer. Then . . . not even a few months later. He was . . . killed by an evil speedster named Zoom."
I grimaced. Jeez, why did I even ask? "I'm really sorry. I just, wanted to understand why you were so upset."
Barry lifted his head and stared gloomily at Cisco, "I just don't want to lose anyone else."
I took a breath, "Look, when I was back in my city, in New York, I was alone in my crime fighting job. And . . . I was sort of lonely. But now, I met you guys. Cisco, Caitlin, The Flash, I mean, it's awesome! And I'm not planning on letting any of you down."
Barry actually smiled, "Thanks, Peter. I'm glad Team Flash could work with you."
"Guys!" Caitlin shouted, "I have a trace on Savitar!"
I looked at Barry, "You ready to kick some god butt?"
He laughed, "Ready as I'll ever be. Let's do this, partner."
I put on my mask. Barry slipped his own over his face. Caitlin gave us the coordinates to Savitar, and hopefully Loki.
Standing there, I realized, I was apart of Team Flash.
