Chapter 6
For free time we didn’t really do anything interesting expect try to find Amelia. It seemed like she had almost disappeared after her private meeting with Sebastian and it made me worry about her even more.
She was nowhere to be found. Not in the barn, not in her dorm and not even in the common hall where most of the competitors were chilling.
“I’m sure she’ll turn up for dinner” Zoé said calmly. “She probably just took a walk”.
I bit my bottom lip but didn’t say anything; we didn’t know Amelia well enough to know if this was common or not so the best we could do was be hopeful.
“You don’t think Sebastian killed her do you?” Tatum asked with a gasp.
Zoé furrowed her thin brows and I slapped Tatum's arm causing her to recoil in mock hurt.
"I guess we should go join everyone in the common hall then 'hey?" Tatum sighed her face somewhat defeated looking.
"Oui" Zoé nods.
"You guys go ahead I'm just going to check the dorm one more time" I said.
Something doesn't feel right and I would feel horrible if something bad happened to Amelia and I didn't do everything I could to look for her.
Zoé nods and together her and Tatum walked down the cobble stone path to the common hall.
I turned on my toe and begin down another less common path to the dorms.
As I walk down the path I realize I am being led into a large garden with immense and immaculate flower beds of many different colors on both sides and big large willows crowning the close cropped grass.
I let my eyes wander a little bit; searching for Amelia as well as being distracted by the garden. Further down the path I ran into a boy.
I knew Logan from practice and for the charming dark bay mare, Rook’s Wing, he rode. Also he was pretty attractive so he obviously stuck out.
“Hey! So this might seem a bit odd but I found a girl and I think you might be able to help” Logan said.
Instantly I thought of Amelia and my heart quickened slightly in my chest.
“I think I know exactly who you are talking about” I said.
Logan turned on his toe and began to walk quickly down the path deeper into the garden. I followed behind him trying to match his brisk pace; it seemed he was really concerned.
Shortly we arrived at a small gazebo and I could see Amelia curled into a tight little ball with her arms around her legs and her nose in her knees instantly. I could also tell by the way her shoulders were shaking that she was sobbing.
I broke into a jog and wrapped her into a big hug. Logan approached a bit more slowly and hesitantly as if Amelia was some sort of frightened wild animal.
“It’s alright Amelia” I muttered into her hair as I hugged her tightly.
Amelia could not answer all she could do was sob into my polo.
“What happened?” I asked openly; hoping for an answer either from Amelia herself or even Logan.
“I don’t know, I found her like this and I couldn’t just leave her alone” Logan muttered, his baby blue eyes concerned as he watched me and Amelia closely.
I smiled gently at him and nodded.
“Amelia, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
Amelia shook her head miserably against my chest.
