When they saw next Destiny was at lunch. She was huffing as she sprinted to the Gryffindor table, passing through a large group of Ravenclaw first year. They giggled all in a huddle, and whispered something about the 'ghost of Madame Pomfrey' or something. Cillian hoped that he and his friends weren't that strange when they were first years.

"Sorry!" Destiny choked out as she caught her breath, her arms filled with books. She set them down on the table with a loud thud. "I got held up." She took a quick glance at the Slytherin table, specifically the three Malfoy children being surrounded by the others.

"Nah, don't sweat it, Dess," Phoenix said. "Now, it's time to show you the proper way to spend your lunch break." She leaned back against Neil's shoulder, not caring what he felt about this, and set her feet on the table. She took a deep, relaxed sigh, popping an apple in her mouth.

"Hey! Ge' off!" Neil tried to shove his cousin from his shoulder, clearly unsuccessful. He grunted, giving up, and shoved a bite-sized sandwich into his mouth.

"Oh, Phoenix," Cillian sighed, a smile playing his face.

Maggie came out of nowhere, crashing next to Cillian and grabbing an orange slice from a fruit bowl. Cillian jumped, then glared at the girl. She had sucked all the juice from the orange before she caught this, and then grabbed a plate from a place next to her, put the peel down, and wiped her mouth with a napkin.

"Sorry," she whispered. "I'm simply starving! I never knew Professor Binns lectures could be so boring! I nearly died! I swear that it seemed like he went half an hour past the bell--"

"Maggie?" Phoenix grumbled.

"Yeah?"

"Shut up."

Maggie pursed her lips, took a small fruit bowl, and placed it on her plate. Cillian gave Phoenix a grateful smile, which she returned, after rolling her eyes. She leaned all her weight against Neil, which made him shift most of his onto an unsteady arm resting on the bench.

"Hey, where's that other girl? Maya?" Cillian asked, noticing that Maggie was not with her.

"MIA," Magnolia corrected. "She had to stay behind and help professor Binns with the history books."

"Why?" Neil asked.

"Cause they kept flying off the shelves and hitting the students."

"Why Mia?"

"I dunno, he just picked two people to help him, so he asked Mia and this other girl from Slytherin...Celeste, I think her name is? She's a prefect."

They all ate a brief lunch, mostly fruit, tiny sandwiches, and leftover muffins from breakfast.

"Let's go to the announcement board before we have to go back to classes," Phoenix commanded.

The small crowd followed her lead into the hallway, leaving the Great Hall. Hung on the wall next to the grand oak door, a huge cork board was hung, about ten feet long in width. It was surprisingly empty, with only a few papers strewn across the board.

"How have I never seen this before?" Neil asked, dumbfounded he had never noticed the giant board before.

"Well, number one, you're stupid," Phoenix mocked. "Number two, whenever the doors to the Hall are open, they cover it, so you wouldn't it even if you tried."

"Well, how did you know they were there?"

"Because I actually pay attention to my surroundings. Anyway, stop distracting me, and start looking for any announcements!"
