Whenever they get a chance, staff of the 4077th would go and get a drink. Whether it was a beer, martini, wine, Whiskey, bourbon or grape nehi. They would either go to the officers club or Rosie's to get a drink.
Sometimes there would be brawls in the bars. And they would be crazy as hell. The men would be asses to each other because they were drunk. Brawls would break out for no reason or not that anyone would know of.
But drinking was still a thing for the staff of the unit to do. It was basically for socializing and having a good time. Hawkeye drinks beer, but most of the time he will drink martinis in his tent. He did with Trapper for awhile and then when BJ came along, the martinis kept coming. I guess it was a tradition at the 4077th.
Drinking is a hobby at the 4077th I guess you could say. Well for Hawkeye it was since he had nothing better to do other than make out with nurses or read his magazines.
But it's something the staff of the M*A*S*H would do after a long hard surgery. They would go to a bar and have a good old drink and just chat.
The typical thing that would happen in a bar besides a brawl. Sometimes the staff by each other a drink. Like one time when Charles was at the 4077rh and everyone else was having money problems, Charles paid for beer for BJ and Hawkeye.
It rarely happens but it does happen. Most of the time the staff by their own drinks. It's just a thing they do. Drinking is a hobby for the unit of the 4077.
