"Look at that one, mommy!" Reagan frantically pointed out the big glass window as a plane began to speed up and slowly arches upward. Lauren looked up from her book and saw her little tiger pressed right up to the window, her feet bouncing as the plane moved farther away.
"Aren't they cool, Rey?" Lauren asked, putting the book on top of her carry on and kneeling beside her little one.
"How do they fly? Their wings aren't flapping," Reagan asked, her tiger suit shifting down slightly over her eyes. Lauren laughed and fixed the head covering back up so she could see the emerald eyes.
"Well," She began, sitting on her bum and crossing her legs. Reagan instantly sat in her lap and looked up to her mom expectantly. "The plane has a lot of big parts that help it go fast. When the pilots go full speed they have to pull the front of the plane up so then the wind can carry it. It's kind of tricky to explain, but the wind and speed work together to keep the plane up."
"What if the wind stops?"
"The plane makes its own wind," Lauren said, hoping she got a rough message through to her kid.
"That's weird," Reagan giggled, playing with the zipper of her suit.
"What's weird is that they're letting a tiger on the plane," The brunette said, poking her baby's belly, which made her squeal.
"Grr," Reagan said playfully, showing her little white teeth. Lauren copied her face, which made both of them go into a fit of giggles. "I can bring my cub on the plane? Or is she too wild?" Lauren looked to where the carry on sat and smiled at the tiger cub plush on the floor.
"Well she's a baby so I think she's okay to ride with all the people," The brunette said, placing a kiss on her daughter's forehead.
"Flight 164 to Los Angeles has begun boarding," The voice came up over the PA system and the mother made a move to get herself and her kid organized before they joined the wild line up of people trying to get onboard.
"We going now?" The four-year-old asked, taking her toy into her arms while Lauren put her travel backpack over her shoulder and pulled the handle of the carry-on up.
"Yes, Mija. We have to get on the plane," Lauren said, offering a hand to her tiger cub.
"How long until we get there?" The girl asked for the hundredth time that day. Lauren laughed lightly at the repeated question and pulled them to the lineup.
"Well we're in Miami, which is at the bottom of the south, and Ally and Dev live all the way in LA, which is on the west coast. The plane ride takes five and a half hours."
"And the car ride?" Reagan asked, knowing they had to drive from the airport to the house.
"Only one hour."
"Can I go swimming in the beach?"
"Only if one of your aunts', or myself is watching," Lauren reminded her. She trusted that Reagan knew how to swim safely in the ocean behind Ally's house, but she wasn't stupid enough to let a four-year-old run around on the semi-public beach by herself.
"Can I swim in my tiger outfit?" The little one asked, her endless amount of questions spewing out as they neared the counter.
"No silly, you'll get it all messy with salt water," Lauren said with a laugh.
"But tigers know how to swim," Reagan said with a sly grin. Lauren will never forgive Normani for buying her kid that tiger fact book last year.
"Not in salt water," Lauren tried to argue back, scrunching her nose at Reagan.
