Dearest Callie

I hope you're doing well and enjoying your holidays. I'm not sure if you've heard but I finally escaped my 'home' — Grimmauld Place, I mean — and the Potters have taken me in for Christmas this year. Isn't that exciting? You told me Christmas feels better with family, and you're definitely right. This is amazing!

Mrs Potter is an amazing cook, and she's been making all sorts of delicious dishes all holiday. She even rivals the house-elves back at Hogwarts, I reckon. I think I've formed some sort of addiction, so I'll probably struggle to leave when term starts again.

Still, I'm not sure I know all that much about what Christmas should really feel like? You've only ever described it to me, and the feeling sounds incredible. I want to feel the elation you do every year, because for the whole of December there's nothing more exciting than watching your face light up the whole room as you talk about the festivities.

Write back please! The Potters have an incredible tree and lots of presents, but I don't think that has anything to do with the real meaning of Christmas, right?

See you back at school!

Love from

Sirius

Dear Sirius

I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself at the Potters. I don't think my heart — or more importantly yours — could take another year at Grimmauld Place. The street name is certainly fitting for the people that live there, isn't it?

Anyway, you aren't feeling festive? I'll have to teach you how to celebrate properly! Have you tried listening to Christmas music? If not, I have some suggestions! As a muggleborn, I grew up on these songs!

White Christmas by Irving Berlin
Baby, It's Cold Outside by Frank Loesser
Feliz Navidad by José Feliciano
Silver Bells by Jay Livingston
Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon
(I think you'll really like that one, I know you liked The Beatles when Remus played them for you)
I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard
Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Frank Sinatra

I hope you like these songs, Sirius. They remind me so much of my childhood that listening to them just fills me with pure nostalgic joy. After all, that's mostly why I love Christmas so much: pure and utter nostalgia.

I hope you get the most out of this holiday season. Christmas gives off the most electric, homely feeling of excitement and relaxation and I want you to understand the feelings of love, peace and joy that I've always felt in December.

Hope everything goes well.

Love,

Callie xx
