"C'mon, hit harder!" my dad laughed.
I gritted my teeth, "I'm trying to!"
I punched the pad furiously, with all my force.
"Yes! Just like that Vienna, c'mon," he smiled.
I slowed down, breathing quickly, searching for more air to arrive in my lungs.
"That was great!" he exclaimed. "Do we fight now...?" I said out of breath.
"You got that right." he chuckled.
I rolled my eyes, "Fine." I groaned.
"That's the spirit!" he teased.
I stepped in, wiping off some of the sweat running down my forehead, I clenched my hand into a fist, and I did the first move to try and hit him right to his stomach. His large hand stopped me, he looks up at me and chuckled. "Wrong move."
Suddenly, his leg swept me off my feet, leaving me to hit on the mat harshly.
I gave him a dirty look, and he raised his eyebrow, I shrugged it off and I laughed, "Well, am I done?" I asked. "Um, no," he gave me a confused look.
I rolled my eyes, "You can do better than that." he murmured. "I can! But I don't want to right now." I lifted my hand in the air. "Oh so, if someone tries to attack you, are you just going to say, "But I don't want to right now"? he mocked. I shook my head quickly, scoffing under my breath, "Dad..." I whispered.
"No," he swiftly took off the mat under my butt, and rolled it up, "if anything happens to you, I'd like to see you even try." he said sarcastically.
Wow, that hurt. "Whatever, I guess I'll just die so I don't have to live like I'm in some fucking hide and see-" he cut me off by grabbing my wrist roughly, and pulled me up from the ground awkwardly. "How about if you shut your goddamn mouth, I'm trying to teach you of how to fight because I care if you're in a situation that you need to defend yourself in, but you obviously don't give a shit what I'm trying to do, I know you can do better, but you chose not to, don't come crying to me when you get your ass kicked." then he let go my wrist, which I fell to the ground. He quickly boomed out of the room, leaving me feeling more pathetic than ever.
Tears started to prick in my eyes, I cringed at the choice of words he used. A tear fell down my cheek, and landed on my lip, I licked my lips, feeling the cracked texture of my lips, and my salty tears. I began to bawl, he is right, all he wants to do is to protect me, and help me from the danger out there. I wiped my tears quickly, and I stood up, walking out of the room, and locked the door behind me.
I ran up to the bathroom, then I looked at my appearance at the cracked mirror. My reflection made my eyes widen, my hair looked like a damn bird nest, my lips are cracked, dead skin ripped open with a few cuts on my plump lips, my eyes are bloodshot from crying, and my skin looked so transparent, as if you touch it, it may shatter like glass. My blue eyes looked hollow, I honestly felt like I'm going to break down any second.
I clenched my teeth, I tugged my hair lightly from the roots, I wish I didn't have to live like this, always with stress weighing on your chest, you literally don't know if any second you can be trampled by some unknown. I haven't felt safe in such a long time, the only time I actually felt safe was when...my mother was still alive. After that, everything went downhill, it's as if I was just shredded into pieces and thrown into the trash. But one thing that I won't forget is how my father said, "Everything happens for a reason." I felt so angry, that it was my fault that I didn't do anything to help, and stayed under a table shitting bricks when I could've maybe actually saved my mother's life. I grabbed a small vase from aside of the sink, with almost-dead white tulips. I threw it to the ground, with all my force, "Why-why-why?" I cried. I fell onto the ground and covered my face with my hands, more tears rushed down my cheeks. "W-what happened here?" my father yelled, startling me. I looked up, seeing his worried eyes. I cried more, I felt like such a toddler, but I honestly did not care at the moment.
I felt him put his arms around me, slowly picked me up from the ground with millions of pieces of glass. He carried me up as if I was a feather, and slowly dropped me on my bed. He kissed my forehead, "I am so sorry darling, I didn't mean anything that I said to you, I love you so much, you know that. I am just so afraid if anything will happen to you because it will crush me." he said. I looked up at him, giving him a slight smile, "It's okay dad, I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have blown up at you reckless." I sniffled. He hesitated as he laughed, "No, s' fine. Take a napping babe, it's been a long day." he rubbed my shoulders. "No dad," I whined, "I'm all sweaty, I need to take a shower first!" I struggled to get out of his grip. "You know what, fine, because you stink," he stifled a laugh. I scoffed loudly, lightly slapping his arm, "Thanks a lot, dad! Something I wanted to know right at this moment!" I giggled.
He grinned, "I'll be downstairs, call my name if you need anything. Love you," and climbed down the ladder. "Love you too..." I murmured.

I woke up from a loud noise, startling me as I hit my head on the roof. "Fuck," I groaned. I felt a hand grasp my neck, I widened my eyes and gasped out loudly, what's' going on? The person began to choke me, but not so harshly. Since it's so dark, I can't see shit, but I grabbed the person's wrist, but he doesn't take off his hand. I pulled back my elbow to hit the person on the ribs, the 'man' groaned loudly, loosening his hold on my neck, and I immediately bent his wrist back, hearing many cracks. Then I turned around, and I strike the person to the throat, well I tried to. The man grabs my hand, squeezing it harshly, I inhale quickly from the pain, but then my other hand swung to poke him in the eye. When I do, he clutched his eye, and yelled out a chain of curse words, then I kneed him in the stomach. Right before he fell, I tried to punch his nose as hard as I can, but his other hand stopped me. "Vienna stop!" he cried out loud. Dad?
I searched for the flashlight under my bed, and I shined it to his face.
"What the hell dad!? W-why are you here? Why did you even?" I yelled out in frustration. "I-I," he blinked his eyes rapidly, "was testing you to see what you would do if someone begins to attack you!" he yelled. "Dad you're crazy! Wait, let me check your eye," I furrowed my eyebrows. Many blood vessels are popped, "Dad, can you even see?" I worried. "Yes darling, I'm fine. I'll just go get an ice pack," he reassured. He got up, and walked out of my room, but stopped right before he climbed down the ladder, "Maybe I was wrong, I think you're ready Vienna," then he climbed down the ladder.
Pretty short, but next chapter WILL have lots of action, and don't worry, Harry will be appearing...soon... (: Thanks for reading. <3
