Yuri's eyelids flicker open, an unfamiliar blue ceiling being his first sight. He abruptly stands up, causing him to wince at the sharp pain in his ribs.
The noise causes Otabek to wake up as well. He climbs to his knees on the floor beside Yuri, yawning and massaging the back of his neck.
"Morning." He mumbles in a deep tone, voice lower than usual. His pupils are small from the recent lack of light, accentuating the dark sanded color of his eyes.
Yuri smiles lightly and shifts to sit on the couch, patting the spot beside him. Otabek shuffles to his side, smoothly wrapping an arm around his lover's small waist.
Yuri hums in contentment, leaning closer to the warm male. "Do my bruises look any better?" He asks.
Otabek pulls away from Yuri to peer at his face, lightly cupping the side of his face while doing so. His eyes examine the beautiful boy's face, taking in every detail.
His black eye still appears rather grotesque, shades of purple and blue rimming the edges of the tattered skin beside his nose.
"Not good, princess. But better than yesterday, which means it's healing." Otabek answers with a smile, planting a kiss on Yuri's cheek.
Though his eye may not be in the best shape, the pain has greatly lessened. Yuri's ribs hurt the most if anything, but he is aware they thankfully aren't broken.
"I'll be okay!" Yuri cheers, pulling Otabek in for a side hug. He laughs with the optimistic boy. "Indeed you will." He says, delicately pulling Yuri onto his lap.
His arms snake around his waist, securing him protectively on his thighs. Yuri giggles and smiles widely, forgetting all the pain in his body.
"You still have two more days to prove you love me, and then we can become boyfriends!" He says excitedly, his hands clapping happily.
Otabek smiles, a wave of hopeful remembrance washing through him. He exhales a relieved sigh, glad Yuri is still up for being his true lover.
"I've been planning date number two for days, shall we?" Otabek asks, tilting his head to look at the boy on his lap's face. Yuri grins and stands up in response, lightly tugging Otabek's sleeve upwards.
"We have to get dressed first." The raven haired boy points out, his legs stretching and lifting off the couch.
Yuri sighs but agrees, his hands still twidling with the ends of Otabek's soft jacket sleeves. "Okay, but be quick. I can't wait forever!" He warns in a solemn tone, though his expression appears ecstatic.
"Of course." Otabek says, gesturing for Yuri to follow him upstairs. "I've got clothes for you too. They might be a little big." He adds, beginning to ascend up the wooden stairwell.
Yuri shrugs. "I'm sure I'll be fine." He says calmly, though his insides are going mad at the thought of wearing the scented clothes of Otabek.
Even Otabek himself wants to witness the angelic sight of Yuri in his oversized clothes, smiling adorably while his teal eyes twinkle.
Shaking from his daydream, he opens the door to his bedroom, revealing a navy walled room. Yuri takes in the surroundings, surprised by the room's organization.
