3- Unexpected

KARYLLE’S PERSPECTIVE

"Tres ok ka na? I'm on my way to pick you." Echo said over the phone. Ever since I arrived at ABS-CBN, he's been one of my friends, most of my friends kasi ay nasa GMA.

 "Yeah, I'm just finishing my beauty rituals" I joked and we both laughed. "By the time you're here tapos na ko."

"Sige, sige, I'll be there in a few. See you."                                        

"Sure, ingat."

Jericho Rosales is one guy who will make you feel special pag magkasama kayo. Sweet sya, di ka nya pababayaan...one of the sweetest person I know. Masarap sya kasama. Yes, he tried to court me but I don't know kung bakit di nagwork. But at least we remain friends (unlike others :) )

After several minutes, nandito na nga sya. Di ko inexpect na ganun sya kabilis kaya ako eto pa rin sa room ko, nagpapaganda, hahaha.

"Karylle, nandito na si Echo," Ate Rose is already calling me.

"Yes, please tell him 5 more minutes. Matatapos na ko," I answered.

And after 5 minutes ay lumabas na nga ako.

"Akala ko ba pagdating ko tapos ka na?" he joked, pero alam ko half meant yun.

"I'm sorry ah. Nahirapan ako magpaganda eh. Hello, Jericho Rosales kasama ko, mahirap na. Baka di ako mapansin," I joked back.

"Ikaw nahirapan magpaganda? Kahit nga di ka mag ayos tatalunin mo mga candidates ng Miss Universe eh. Ganda mo kaya." sabi nya may kasama pang wink, wink.

"Really?"

"Yes, you're beautiful inside and out," sabi ni Echo sabay offer ng arms nya. Para talagang escort ah. "Let's go. Baka mawalan na tayo ng seat pag di pa tayo umalis." At umalis na nga kami.

Ang alam ko friends na lang talaga kami ni Echo. Pero he always accompanies me to events whenever I need a "date". Thankful di ako sa kanya kasi even though di nagresult into something yung panliligaw nya sakin, di sya nagalit and we remain friends. 

At first, Echo and I drove in silence but afterwards he spoke. He spoked the words that shocked me! 

"Wala na ba talaga kong pagasa sa'yo?" 

And I was really surprised by his question. We never really talked about this since the last month, when I said "No" to him for the 2nd time (I thought that was the last but it looked like I'm wrong). Well, I don't really say no but I told him that I'm not yet ready, that I need some time. Pinagpepray ko din kasi na sana wag muna ko magkaboyfriend ngayon. Pero syempre it's a prayer that only me can answer. 

"Echo, I thought we're done with this?" I ask him.

"I'm just taking chances," he answers back smiling. "Sabi mo you just need time, more time..." 

"Eyes on the road," I interrupt him, trying to end the conversation. 

"My eyes are on the road," he replied. "You know this is a perfect night..." 

"Supposed to be. So if you want this to be perfect, let's drop this topic." I am annoyed now.

"Ok, ok. I'm sorry. Like I've said, I'm just taking chances, but I guess I already got my answer for tonight."

For tonight? Is he going to ask me the same question in some other night? I don't think I can handle another situation like this. 

"Move on na tayo? Ok na, tanggap ko na." he offers his hand for a shake hand. Nagdadalawang isip ako kung tatanggapin ko ba o hindi. Pero syempre, friend ko pa rin sya and I want us to remain the way we were. I grab his hand and gave him a smile but I let go agad.
